mtoast (290), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 13, 2007 On tap, from old notes. Pours a hazy deep gold with fluffy white foam, decent retention and lacing. Aroma is fairly heavy on banana like yeast notes with some candy-ish sugar notes and hints of coriander and Saaz hops. Flavor is fairly sweet, good bit of banana, lots of coriander, very nice hoppiness in the finish. A very complex, if not a little too sweet, Tripel Optigon (561), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Oct 12, 2007 Pours cloudy, tan, with a fine, white, moderate head. Aroma is spicy with citrus and banana. Full mouth feel. Very peppery, spicy, with citrus and banana qualities. Pleasantly, and lightly, complex. yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark Oct 9, 2007 33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a white lasting head. Small sediments floating around in the beer. Caramel malty aroma with a slight yeasty spice note beneath, minor orange peel aroma too. Spiced caramel malty flavour, somewhat astringent and far from as mellow as other triples. Finish has a rather warming alcohol finish. beachbum25 (778), Powellville, Maryland, USA Oct 7, 2007 750 Ml Bottle-Poured a hazy, golden/orange color w/a moderate foamy head. Classic Belgian aroma, sweet flavors of cane sugar, orange peel, colander, & bread dough. Very smooth & flavorful, easy drinking brew. Alcohol is well hidden. Long spicy finish. This one was a keeper, would age well, but it’s good now. scanovajr (361), Stanford, California, USA Oct 5, 2007 Bottled @ Belgian Beer Cafe, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Gold in colour, huge white head. Aroma is sweet with caramel and orange notes, also some spice. Sweet malt flavour with orange, lemon and honey. Spicy yeast and citrus come out in the dry finish. Medium body, crisp tingly carbonation. Het Anker’s beers continue to impress me. ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 23, 2007 not too spicey, but a little peppery; some honey sweetness; lemon notes; pleasent yeastiness; some mango and orange fruitiness; dry finish; yum.
