Allen (1282), Switzerland Sep 8, 2009 Bottled 330ml. Appearance: Slightly hazy, surprisingly pale golden with a small (for the style) creamy white head. Some lacework. Aroma: Inviting with plenty of character. Coconut, arabic gum, malt, lemonade, yeast, banana, bubblegum, lemon sherbet, rose, lychee and lavender showing up. Sweet. Flavor and palate: Very nice with quite a lot of bubblegum, raspberries and coconut characteristics appearing. Sweet. The alcohol is very well hidden. Subtle carbonation. Extremely sweet sticky finish. Overall impression: Pale appearance, small head for the style. Reminiscent of lemonade, coconut, bubblegum, lemon and banana throughout. Extremely fruity. A very approachable triple. LeMat (11), France Sep 5, 2009 I got this beer on tap in a pub named Carolus in Paris near Place de Clichy. I found this beer very good. Great taste, body. Awesome color. This, my friends is an abbey tripel highly recommanded PolishHammer (64), , Connecticut, USA Aug 21, 2009 A terrific, authentic trappist-style tripel. Aroma and flavor have the perfect amount of hops, wheat, licorice, alcohol and sweetness. A little rougher around the edges than a Chimay Cinq Cents, but a really nice tasty tripel that I enjoyed a lot. Not too sweet like a lot of the newer, non-traditional tripels. You should taste a little alcohol...even though it’s well hidden, it’s good to know it’s there. mbuisman79 (133), Amsterdam, Netherlands Aug 19, 2009 A true tripel in appearance and flavor. Nice thick uneven foamy head. Fairly thick palate as well. Bit too hoppy for me. Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA Aug 14, 2009 This one pours an appetizing golden yellow with a very thick, fine-bubbled, persistent head. Aroma is rather strong, fruity, yeasty and malty. Flavor is rich and mouth-filling, fruity and malty with a yeasty undertone. Texture is delightfully fizzy and tingly, smooth underneath. Worth finding. Habanero (610), Tranbjerg, Denmark Aug 9, 2009 Bottled. Pours golden And slightly hazy with a medium sized white head. Good lacing. Nose of spices, caramel and fruit. Sweet spicy flavour with malt, wheat, fruit and spices. Medium bodied. An enjoyable brew. CUJO (339), Brooklyn, New York, USA Aug 8, 2009 Radegast: trappist: rockin brew! Sloppy pour by the barmaid left way too much head, which I let settle. The pour is hazy golden yellow, the nose was complex... yeasts, some roasted notes, also some fruits/ sugars. The taste is very complex... the alcohol is immediately noticeable however the carbonation, roasted malts and sweetness (unexpected) make this very well balanced! jsh12bama (335), Alabama, USA Aug 6, 2009 Pours hazy, yellow with HUGE white head. Great lacing. Aroma of spice and hops. Taste of slight floral hops and yeast. Nice spices in the finish. Highly carbonated. Way too easy drinking at 9%.
