| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 13, 2007 Pours a rich gold with a thick, bubbly head. Aroma of yeast and sweet maltiness. The initial flavor is creamy and slightly bitter, followed by a robust, malty aftertaste. The lacing is good, and the beer is quite refreshing, yet also full bodied. wingman333 (236), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2007 Poured into an authentic Gouden Carolus goblet, this is light and cloudy in appearance, with moderate head and fizziness. The primary flavor is peach, and in a big way. It is quite refreshing and somewhat light, despite the 9% alcohol. So far I like the two Gouden Carolus varieties I’ve tried! | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 9, 2007 On tap at Three Floyds Brewpub, and served in a Gouden Carolus trappist glass. This tripel poured a bright, hazy orange color with a long lasting beige head. The aroma was made up of orange, apple, candy sugar, and some mild yeast esthers. The flavor was the same, but with some excellent spice notes showing up. Also, some lightly warming alcohol made it’s presence known. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and champagne-like. A truly exceptional beer. joe1510 (501), Illinois, USA

Gouden Carolus Triple poured a slightly hazy peach that glows when held to the light. A loose airy 1+ finger white head formed on the pour but receded to a ring around the glass within seconds. Leaves no lacing.
This is one fruity and spicy tripel. Big aromas of pear and granny smith apple greet you as soon as you stick your nose in the glass. Candi sugar and spicy alcohol follow close behind adding a nice depth.
Candi sugar sweetness and big juicy peach start things off with a bang. A pear grittiness and mild green apple show up mid palate along with a doughy malt base. Spicy alcohol, mild clove and a yeasty fruitness come along on the finish that make this one great tasting tripel.
Body is on the lighter side of medium with a velvety feel when hitting the tongue. The seeming lack of carbonation is in the mouthfeel but in small doses. Just enough to make the body velvety smooth.
This is a danderously drinkable tripel considering the high abv. My glass is disappearing far to quickly.
One of the better tripels so far expierenced in my drinking days. Good popping fruitiness with an exceptionally spicy and deep alcohol and yeast quality. Wonderful beer.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 2, 2007 Big bottle. Pours a very nice deep golden colour with a huge very lively well lasting creamy white head leaving a very nice thick lacing all around the glass. Fresh fruity aroma with yeast, citrus, malt and some alcohol. Great well filling champagne mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with a nice soft fruitiness, yeast, citrus, some spices, good hops and a well hidden touch of alcohol. Good long lasting fruity and bit spiced finish. GREAT! | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 30, 2007 After the great cider purge of 2007, this one comes in at rating no. 1250. Bottle, corked and caged. Sweet aroma, yeasty with sugar and a touch of apple juice. Hazy golden with a beautiful white head, rocky and full. Taste is smooth and lightly crisp, yeast and light citrus blended well with light flowers and lighter apple juice. Spicy and a bit pushy, lots of heft from the alcohol without being overbearing. Ending acidity does wonders to balance out the sweetness. A really pleasant surprise - I wasn’t expecting this kind of monster! thewolf (5722), Kolding, Denmark
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 29, 2007 Bottle, 75cl, from LIVA Domhusgade, Kolding. Slightly hazy golden yellow with a big bubbly, white head. Aroma has a youghurt feel, lots of oranges, bananas, yeast og a floral edge. Nicely carbonated. Flavour is mild, slightly fruity - a little tarty at the end. There is no apparent alcohol, but there is a warming sensation when I swallow. A very nice brew - one of the best tripels I’ve had :o)
