Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

Golden blond pour with a fluffy milky white head. wheat, hoppy spice on the nose with an orange yeasty zest. Malty on the palate with a subtle hint of a figgy toffe quality. A flowery, lightly spiced hoppy kick towards the end. Echoes of cloves and pepper. The alcohol flavor is definately present but not overwhelming, and has a warming effect too.

Clear, pale yellow with a small white head. Sweet and fruity notes (prunes?). Taste is sweet with some fruit. Full bodied with a nice, bittersweet finish.

Strong carbonation... seconds after removing the cage, the cork shot to the ceiling unexpectedly and nearly took my head off. Pours a cloudy honey color with a thick, fluffy long lasting head. The nose is a wheaty, slightly sour fruit, with a hint of alcohol. The taste is a bit of sour apple, spices, pepper... It has a nice balanced blend of sweet and tart. Very good.

Sampled from 750ml bottle. Hazy and golden hued. White head. Floral and caramel nose. Sticky and honeyish. Touch bready. Lively effervescence. Medium to full bodied. Dry palate. Floral yeasty flavors. Good bitter finish.

Pours into the chalice a hazy golden-orange color. Produces a beautiful thick, dense pillow-like head with superb retention. An intricate lacing pattern of foam adheres to the sides of the glass. The nose is a bit muted, but with pleasant fruity notes of pineapple, banana, vanilla wafer cookies and honey in the forefront. A faint touch of yeast, light malts, spice and perfume linger in the background. Mouthfeel is perfectly balanced between the velvety smooth and creamy texture of a big beer and the expected tingle of CO2 from a Belgian Ale. Flavor profile a bit more assertive than the aroma. Starts out with a fruity, malty sweetness; very much like the nose. Then gradually moves into a slight peppery, spicy alcohol presentation and finally finishes with a somewhat surprising, but slightly astringent moderately bitter hoppy finish. All in all a solid Triple save for the slightly distracting finish. I’d definitely go back for more.
