It’s got all the qualities I look for in a tripel - rich flavor of sweet malt and tart fruit, slight heat - but is simply a bit too thin on the mouthfeel. That aside, it’s more than solid and I’ll return to it again. jerc (3885), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 12, 2007 Bottle. Hazy golden body with a big billowy white head. Sweet boozy aroma is yeasty with light sweet lemon notes that are intriguing. Ephemeral notes of banana. Flavour of sweet pale malt, dry alcohol, fruity esters and light sweet lemon. (7+) Average to medium palate. Interesting but it is not my favourite triple ever. skibumphishead (180), USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 10, 2007 750 from Town and Country Liquors. The first aroma is spicy cinnamon, pepper alcohol and fruit. The strong alcohol flavor comes out as it warms. The finish is sweet and citrusy. I’ve only had 2 from this brewery... they have both been great. Gurst (338), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 7, 2007 Spice: anise, black pepper, citrus peel, and... curry?
Alcohol rounds off the beer, ending with a let off in the flavor the department, but works well with the dominate spicy tastes. Pailhead (2582), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 5, 2007 Bottle: Big yeasty aroma wiht moderate banana, apple, spice, pepper, and a hint of alcohol. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a big creamy white head with great retention and a thick coating of lacing. The flavor starts with mdoerate apple, bubblegum, and light banana. The finish has very light flowery bitterness, light orange peel, and a hint of pepper. There is a very mild tartness in the background. Maria (6167), Thisted, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2007 Golden, hazy with an incredibly nice and lasting head. The aroma is sweetish with notes of fruit and malt. The flavour is sweet with notes of candy sugar, fruit - especially lime. The alcohol is a bit too dominating, but it’s a really nice trippel. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 23, 2007 Updated: May 22, 2007Almost clear blonde body topped by a long-lasting medium white head. Thick body with lots of crisp malts. Alcohol is apparent. Main flavours are cereals, honey and alcohol with a touch of caramel and some aromatic grassy and floral hops with no bitterness at all. Sweetness level is average. Enjoyable well put together beer with a nice mouthfeel. Despite all its qualities I found it rather simple although the aromatic floral hops kept me entertained. The foundation of a great triple is there and it could acheive that status if given a little more complexity (spicy twist, fruity notes, something...). Still this was very good, basic, reliable and effective, this beer is to tripels what steak & fries is to fine cuisine.
