bkurtz (276), Peru Apr 4, 2007 Poured a cloudy yellow with a huuuge white, rocky yet smooth head. All the triple aromas are there (coriander, citrus). Alcohol on your throat going down. Comfort beer. josuemucho (86), Orlando, Florida, USA Mar 28, 2007 Had high expectations for this one. Golden pour like most Belgian ales. Aroma was fruity. I detected some strawberry and my buddy detected slight hints of green apple. Quite a bit of head but quickly diminishes. This is one of my favorites. BustedFlat (552), Edina, Minnesota, USA Mar 23, 2007 Poured from a 750ml bottle into a tulip glass, but not all at the same time. Light golden with a medium white head. Aroma was of spice, malt and a touch of banana. The taste started out with a touch of sweetness and malt with some spice and turned dry as it warmed. there was a noticeable alcohol bite. I have a bit of a sweet tooth and really like the other Gouden offerings for this reason. I was a bit disappointed in this and rate the ambrio, classic and Cuvee Van De Keizer among my favorites, but this one is lagging for me.
thegreenrooster (1811), St.louis, Missouri, USA Mar 23, 2007 Pour is a golden with a super huge white head. Aroma is lots of yeast and cloves with some fruits showing up. Flaovr is a bit lower than the aroma but there are some sour fruit and a bit of honey. So-so for the style. bhensonb (4182), Woodland, California, USA Mar 13, 2007 About 5 years old. Aromas of light caramel, malt and some spice. Hazy, light ripe apricot color with a head that did not hang around. Starts with ripe fruit flavor, moves to Belgian candy, then on to spicy malt, ending a bit hoppy with balancing caramel / lightly roasted maltiness. Very lightly spritzy carbonation. Most everything about this tastiness is that it’s light. No one thing unreasonably dominates. joebrew (608), Farewell Minny; Hello Puyallup, Washington, USA Mar 5, 2007 Pours a nice slightly hazy golden color. nice slightly hopped arome with hints of candi sugar, ripe citrus fruit and slight spice. the flavor is great with a nice tripel sweetness and spice, but there is a nice hoppiness from the dry-hopping. I love this freaking beer. Stew41 (1042), Caulfield, Australia Mar 5, 2007 Competent but won’t blow you away. Blond ale-like with sweet malts and hints of corriander. Eats up the 9% with ease. (e2.60 on tap at Kulminator). macguy (144), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Feb 26, 2007 Delicious triple. Nice white head, beautiful lacing, Nose has anise notes. Taste is a little sweet for me, but delicious. The color is amber with a nice cloud.
