Dec 31, 2006 Updated: Apr 10, 2009Bottle, 75cl corked. Two years past BB-date. It pours a slightly hazy, sparkling golden body with a gigantic creamy off-white head. Fine lacings left. Slightly cellary or corked on the nose, with pale malt, fruityness, some citrus hints and spices and a little piney note. Well hidden alcohol. Warming, effervescent and full-bodied. Slightly cellar-like flavor too, with citrusy, piney hops, some bitterness balancing the white sugar sweetness, and a herbal touch. Pale malts as well. Also something reminiscent of dried apricots. Lasting finish with good warmth and a fine bitterness. It’s probably better when fresh, but the two extra years of cellaring sure as hell didn’t ruin it. Rating: 7-4-8-4-16-3.9. (090410)
Bottled, 0.33. A cloudy, orange beer with lots of floaties, and a huge, dense, lasting off-white head. Nice, sweet nose with oranges and spices. Sweet flavor with orange-peel, both fresh and dried fruits and black tea. Fullbodied, quite gassy beer, almost sticky mouthfeel. The finish is long, with bitterness, warming alcohol and spices. Dec 29, 2006 Cloudy orange pour with moderate head. Aroma is sweet with a bit of orange and citrus. Flavor is smooth and a bit fruity. Decent dry finish. Pretty good.

Dec 29, 2006 Pours a very hazy dark yellow orange color with a medium amount of froathy white head. Aroma is very sweet and fruity, passion fruit, grapefruit, and banana. Flavor is very smooth and sweet, honey and banana and apple and orange. Finish is dry but still sweet and nectary. Overall, an alltime favorite. Wish i had more.

Dec 25, 2006 [bottle] Light golden in color, with a foamy white head. Sweet fruity aroma, with a bit of alcohol present. Flavors are fruity, like peach and pear, with yeast and some sweetness towards the end. Finishes pretty dry, with some spice.

Dec 12, 2006 Pours a golden color with a medium sized white head. Interesting beer that has hints of honey, apple, and pineapple in the aroma and taste but finishes quite dry. Very fizzy on the tongue. Good stuff.

Dec 9, 2006 Bottle @ Bens place. Yeasty aroma with orange, apples and yeast. Looks like peach nectar! Small white head. Anis, (fermented) fruits in the flavour, bitter yeastyness in the finish.

Like other Gouden Carolus beers very nice brew. Golden coloured, small white head, fruity coriander nose. Aroma is yeasty, fruity and spicy with mild notes of honey and vanilla.

Dec 1, 2006 Thick firm head, golden orange body, slightly cloudy. Peach(baked), citrus, and sweet malt nose. Very fruity, yet hint of malt character. Light alcohol presence. Very nice finish.
