Yellow with a large white head, fine lacings. Aroma heavy malty (fruity, citrus notes). Flavor heavy sweet. Full body, strong in alcohol. chimaybier (51), Redding, California, USA Sep 19, 2006 Updated: Oct 13, 2006**UPDATE: 10-13-06: ADD a few crystals of clear Belgian Candi sugar to the glass- the result is a very sweet treat!** Iv’e been a devotee of this Triple for several years now, and it never disappoints! Good marshmallow, butterscotch (not diacettyl!) bouquet, excellent head retention, (Brussels lace). Take special care to serve this between 50 - 60 degrees F. Serve in a Trappist goblet. I am one of those weirdos that would pair this with almost any food. Now- to tap into my "mixologist" side- to create a "Kicked Up" Triple, pour a 11.2 Fl Oz. bottle into a trappist goblet, and then.... add a 1/2 shot of Yukon Jack Canadian Liquor. The high alcohol does NOT dissipate the head of the beer and adds to the sweetness (and strength!) It compliments the taste wonderfully! Dont go overboard with the Yukon Jack- use it in the following proprotions: for every 11.2 Oz., use a half a shot of Yukon Jack. Now you do the math to set the proportions for the amount of this Triple you are drinking. It’s great warming drink for the Winter that is soon approaching. kimcgolf (822), Dacula, Georgia, USA Sep 18, 2006 Updated: Sep 19, 2006Poured from the bottle to a cloudy, dark orange color with thick, highly carbonated, off-white head and good lacing. Initial aroma was slightly sour fruit. As beer warmed, the scent of the 9% alcohol became more noticeable, but at no time overpowering. Likewise, the alcohol crept in nicely in the taste to help accent the fruit and hint of spices. Finish was smooth and long. I really enjoyed this beer. cathcacr (586), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 16, 2006 One of those top-notch tripels. Aroma reminiscient of Karmeleit. Very stingy flavor, also much like the Kameleit. If Tripels are your thing, you would be proud to come back to this again and again. And again. SSSteve (2045), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 16, 2006 Updated: Aug 9, 2008cloudy honey colored under a medium sized fizzy white head. aroma of vanilla, marshmallow, tropical fruit, alcohol. flavor is spicy and fruity with notes of apples, huge bubblegum notes with pineapple, and marshmallow. some alcohol shows up. thebeertourist (2750), Oslo, Norway Sep 14, 2006 Bottle at Paters’ Vaetje, Antwerpen. Orangey golden, hazy with an eggwhite-like head. Toffee aroma as well as some grassy hoppiness, even ryebread nose. Toffee and ryebread flavours and a good balancing bitterness. Good carbonation, dry mouthfeel, full-bodied. Not as clean as a traditional tripel, but a great beer nevertheless. allfreej (358), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 13, 2006 Draft at the Birerria, Washington, D.C. Poured golden with a firm white head. Yeasty aroma and a spicy, yeasty flavor with lots of alcohol notes in the finish. A truly great Tripel! olek (20), København N, Denmark Sep 12, 2006 Updated: Dec 25, 2006Golden colour with a big head. Nose is sweet fruit and alcohol. Very sweet and lively beer. Very nice
