maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 14, 2006 From cask - Cloudy amber color with a small creamy white head. Sweet spiced Aroma with hints of lemon. Light malt flavor, some light hints of fruit, with some sharp spices showing through. Bart (1625), Vosselaar, Belgium Jun 14, 2006 Hazy yellow coloured, with some carbonation and a large white head. Rather sweet spicy aroma, little yeasty touches and some fruity (banana, ...) hints. Nice full body. Bitter sweet spicy finish with some alcoholic touches. A very nice abbey tripel. blank (998), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jun 13, 2006 Bottle, thick dark yellowish beer with a light haze to it. Very light and sweet (for a triple). A very pleasent amount of spice. Not nearly as yeasty as I was expecting. Lovely jimvy (131), O’Fallon, Missouri, USA Jun 8, 2006 Bottle. Pours extremely hazy, golden in color with a thick white head that last. Looks more like a weizen. Aroma is sweet and spicey with some pepper notes. Hint of banana. Flavor: Very fruity and sweet upfront. Spices definitely there and with the hops, attempt to balance the sweetness, though falling short. Alcohol is warming...can taste it a little in the finish....definitely detracts. Overall, it’s a very nice tripel but falls a little short of being a truely great beer. I would drink again though. bgoguen (53), Colorado, USA Jun 8, 2006 What else can be said. This is a great Belgian triple. A must try for any triple lover (that sounds funny – am I just being immature?) Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA Jun 6, 2006 Bottle. Nice soft banana bread, apple, and clove nose. Hazy light gold body with a thick attractive foamy head. Soft mouthfeel with a touch of alcohol and CO2. Notes of brown sugar, alcohol, floral notes, cinnamon, watered down whisky, warming going down, cotton, and a big herbal/phenol presence I can’t put my finger on. Very enjoyable, one of the better Triples that I have had. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Jun 6, 2006 Pours a cloudy gold with a nice, long lasting head. Aroma is sugary sweet and spicy as hell, yeasty with artichoke and beets. The flavor shares a lot with the other GC beer I’ve had, the Grand Cru, in that it has a sweet sucrose taste that is very distinct and quite pleasing. It is lively and spicy in the mouth, sweet but also a touch sour at the finish, slightly harsh but very drinkable. There is a certain licorice/anise flavor that shows up as it warms, as well. If I homebrewed, I’d love to cultivate this yeast and see what I could do with it. hammenlind (738), Sundbyberg, Sweden May 28, 2006 Hazy yellow, white head. Apricot, peach nose with some hints of yeast. Fruity flavour, with belgian yeast most present. Some hints of vanilla. Slight spicy finish.
