Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

(B.B. 11/05) Light brown, slightly yellow colored. Big white head. Interesting aroma: orange, pineapple, mild spices, alcohol, honey and sweetness, complex aroma. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is also rich: fruits, pineapple, spices, yeast, good hoppy tones, aftertaste has toffee, strong chocolate and medium alcohol.

Poured a light yellow gold with a big frothy white head. Aroma is sweet, yeasty, and a hint of citrus. Falvor is orages, bannana, with a hint of clove and just enough hop balance to give it a clean finish. Body is a bit thin.

(04.02.06) 330 mL brown bottle from Morel’s Restaurant and Café, Beijing, China. 9% ABV. ottled 4/04 and labeled as best consumed by 4/22/06. Poured clear amber with long-lasting large white head. Good lacing. Soft carbonation. Sweet malt and caramel in the nose. Medium bodied Belgium ale that starts dry with slight malt sweetness and pronounced tangy sour fruity flavor. Finished dry with malt aftertaste. Good drinkable strong Belgium ale with a pronounced sour note. Not for the meek.

Not quite there as an outstanding Abbey Tripel. Flavor strives to get there and starts subtle yet never achieves the complexity of the style. A straw pale w/ orange tints. Some banana aroma that fades, good lacing and a finely built head. Satisfying though not great.

Light delicate aroma, notes of banana, pineapple, flowers (maybe roses or violets), a touch of lemon citrus, and bread dough. A light hazy yellow that almost wants to glow orange, and a huge tight creamy head that is going nowhere. A light coriander spice nose shows up as some of the fruitiness subsides. Big sweet up front, strangely clean, with a tartness that feels like alot of alcohol whopping the sides of your tongue. Fair amount of hops in the finish, but they are quickly overwhelmed by a lingering fuselly alcohol finish. Let this warm for the fruit esters to really come through, particularly banana. Feels a little slick, lacking the airy fluffiness in the better tripels.

750 mL bottle. Pours golden straw yellow with a patchy white head, small and dissipates to a film, frothy and sticky lacing. Aroma is floral and fruity, citrus hops. light malt (hay, straw) and yeast (dough, grass) with an alcohol nose. Medium sweet yeast (dough) and fruity acidic hop flavor, flowers and earth notes, sugary and a malt body, lasting flavor. Light bodied, lively carbonation and fizzy palate.
