PhillyBeer2112 (2084), Orange Park, Florida, USA Apr 7, 2006 Light delicate aroma, notes of banana, pineapple, flowers (maybe roses or violets), a touch of lemon citrus, and bread dough. A light hazy yellow that almost wants to glow orange, and a huge tight creamy head that is going nowhere. A light coriander spice nose shows up as some of the fruitiness subsides. Big sweet up front, strangely clean, with a tartness that feels like alot of alcohol whopping the sides of your tongue. Fair amount of hops in the finish, but they are quickly overwhelmed by a lingering fuselly alcohol finish. Let this warm for the fruit esters to really come through, particularly banana. Feels a little slick, lacking the airy fluffiness in the better tripels. joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 6, 2006 Bottle.
Cloudy yellow coloured with a medium sized white head.
Sweet aroma of fruits, caramel and "carolus-yeast".
Sweet flavour of caramel, fruits and, spices and "carolus-yeast". BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Apr 2, 2006 750 mL bottle. Pours golden straw yellow with a patchy white head, small and dissipates to a film, frothy and sticky lacing. Aroma is floral and fruity, citrus hops. light malt (hay, straw) and yeast (dough, grass) with an alcohol nose. Medium sweet yeast (dough) and fruity acidic hop flavor, flowers and earth notes, sugary and a malt body, lasting flavor. Light bodied, lively carbonation and fizzy palate. maeib (4677), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Mar 31, 2006 Bottled. A blonde coloured beer with a nice large white head and good lacing. The aroma is spicy, peppery and yeasty together with some yeasty fruit. The spicy hops and yeastiness continue into the taste together with a little lemon citricity. It’s alittle too thin for my liking but still quite decent. drainey (231), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 26, 2006 22 cl bottle. Cloudy yellow gold body with a small fluffy head that dissipated quickly. Very nice aroma of pineapple, orange and grapefruit. Pleasant light fruity flavor with orange, pineapple, some honeydew melon, just the right touch of sweetness. The alcohol presence is also quite apparent. Rich body and silky mouthfeel with mild carbonatoin. A nice beer. TheBeerOrg (1563), Kentucky, USA Mar 20, 2006 Pours golden with a wispy off-white head. Sparkling body. Aroma of sweet yeasty esters, notes of honey, apple, white wine, orange peel, and coriander. A bit too sweet with unusual esters on the nose. Taste is sweet and sticky, with esters, phenols, and high alcohols leading the way. Notes of cloves, spicy alcohol, bubble gum, ending with a long phenolic note. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly sticky with aggressive, lively carbonation. I knew I wasn’t going to love this beer as soon as I smelled it. Granted, it’s not bad by any means, but in my opinion, tripels are one of the hardest styles to flawlessly execute. Not bad, but not great. bmxutos (161), Lisboa, Portugal Mar 20, 2006 Bottle, 33cl. Hazy yellow almost orange colour with a medium and disappointing white head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma is sweet and fuity with a few spicy notes. Very smooth and effervescent. Flavour is slightly yeasty and malty with a pronounced sweetness. In fact, sometimes the sweetness is a little too much. Nevertheless, a very good Triple. brigg (213), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Mar 16, 2006 Updated: Oct 24, 2008(Bottle) Deep, cloudy golden color. Big, frothy white head that disappears rather quickly. Aroma is potent mix of sweet, spice, orange, yeast and floral notes. Fizzy on the tongue. Taste is sweet and malty with a mix of spices, bubblegum aftertaste. Lively carbonation.
