ruggedman (613), Portland, Maine, USA Mar 8, 2006 On tap at the Brickskeller in Washington DC. Nose of apple, slight corriander spice. Taste is slight hop, apples, citrus. Fizzy thin palate. Trailing taste is slightly alcoholic and citrusy. Quinten (955), zaandam, Netherlands Mar 8, 2006 Hazy golden color, thin head, very sweet,... a bit overwalming, some nice spices, dont taste the big alcohol level, I wonder of they use only natural ingredients,..so brewery sent the ingredients and I will re-rate Schroppfy (1810), Ohio, USA Mar 7, 2006 Sweet upon full warming, yet still fairly clean. A bit of herbality cuts through the sugars. Some mushroomy woodiness, a little like what I get from aged Allagash Triple. Fair body and holds together well, if too sweet...The aroma is nicely spicy with pepper and pineish components. I haven’t seen this in 12 oz. lately - is this a new batch? antzman (313), Clarksville, Indiana, USA Mar 2, 2006 Bottle. Pours a hazzy blonde with a frothy head. The flavor is of citrus fruits, pear, apple, grapes. The aroma is full of sweet fruits, very tangy. A very refined Triple. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA Feb 22, 2006 Hazy orange with a thin white head. Not much retention when served warm. Hints of white wine, orange, candy apple, apricot. banana, grapes, lemons and cloves come into the aroma. Quite fruity. Taste was quite floral with the apple, banana and white wine dominating. Palate was very sugary and had a thick body. This a strong Tripel yet is was very easy to approach. Well done. jasonp (1504), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA Feb 19, 2006 Pours somewhat of a cloudy golden orange with a medium white head which dissipates as it warms. Pear, white wine/white grapes in the nose; very fruity. Flavor has notes of sweet pale malt, apple, pear, spices, lemon, white wine, caramel and a little raisin. Pleasantly sweet, the hops establish enough of their presence to balance it out but most of the flavor comes from the malt and yeast. Medium bodied with a smooth texture and spritzy yet soft carbonation. Overall, quite enjoyable. zach8270 (2051), Henrietta, New York, USA Feb 15, 2006 (draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Thick and cloudy orange color with a white head. Aroma has lots of spices, malts, yeast and some citrus I believe. Flavor begins very sweet and malty with a nice and smooth flow all throughout the beer. Finish is very smooth and warming and it hides the alcohol until it gets pretty warm. Then you can taste the full 9%. I definitely knocked back a couple of these babies. Very tasty. Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark Feb 14, 2006 Updated: Dec 25, 2006A strong tripel in alcohol and taste. a bit more brown than the average tripel. great white head and complexity in aroma and taste. Like a good Belgium beer it has a great long lasting finish.
