Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

Bottled. A blonde coloured beer with a nice large white head and good lacing. The aroma is spicy, peppery and yeasty together with some yeasty fruit. The spicy hops and yeastiness continue into the taste together with a little lemon citricity. It’s alittle too thin for my liking but still quite decent.

22 cl bottle. Cloudy yellow gold body with a small fluffy head that dissipated quickly. Very nice aroma of pineapple, orange and grapefruit. Pleasant light fruity flavor with orange, pineapple, some honeydew melon, just the right touch of sweetness. The alcohol presence is also quite apparent. Rich body and silky mouthfeel with mild carbonatoin. A nice beer.

Pours golden with a wispy off-white head. Sparkling body. Aroma of sweet yeasty esters, notes of honey, apple, white wine, orange peel, and coriander. A bit too sweet with unusual esters on the nose. Taste is sweet and sticky, with esters, phenols, and high alcohols leading the way. Notes of cloves, spicy alcohol, bubble gum, ending with a long phenolic note. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly sticky with aggressive, lively carbonation. I knew I wasn’t going to love this beer as soon as I smelled it. Granted, it’s not bad by any means, but in my opinion, tripels are one of the hardest styles to flawlessly execute. Not bad, but not great.

Bottle, 33cl. Hazy yellow almost orange colour with a medium and disappointing white head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma is sweet and fuity with a few spicy notes. Very smooth and effervescent. Flavour is slightly yeasty and malty with a pronounced sweetness. In fact, sometimes the sweetness is a little too much. Nevertheless, a very good Triple.

(Bottle) Deep, cloudy golden color. Big, frothy white head that disappears rather quickly. Aroma is potent mix of sweet, spice, orange, yeast and floral notes. Fizzy on the tongue. Taste is sweet and malty with a mix of spices, bubblegum aftertaste. Lively carbonation.

On tap at the Brickskeller in Washington DC. Nose of apple, slight corriander spice. Taste is slight hop, apples, citrus. Fizzy thin palate. Trailing taste is slightly alcoholic and citrusy.

Hazy golden color, thin head, very sweet,... a bit overwalming, some nice spices, dont taste the big alcohol level, I wonder of they use only natural ingredients,..so brewery sent the ingredients and I will re-rate

Sweet upon full warming, yet still fairly clean. A bit of herbality cuts through the sugars. Some mushroomy woodiness, a little like what I get from aged Allagash Triple. Fair body and holds together well, if too sweet...The aroma is nicely spicy with pepper and pineish components. I haven’t seen this in 12 oz. lately - is this a new batch?
