Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

Aroma: candy, small bit of bailing wire and a touch of apricot. Appearance: poures golden/amber with a big lasting head just off white and great lacing. With the yeast it is just hazy. Flavour: sweet apricot, floral notes and metallic hops. Palate: medium full mouthfeel finishes spiritious and leaves a metalic hop aftertaste.

Pours hazy orangish-amber with a large rocky head that sticks around for a while. When it finally recedes it leaves a frothy mesa in the middle of the glass and near-solid lacing on the sides. Very spicy and citrusy aroma—oranges, fresh bread, and coriander dominate. And I swear there’s some brine in there somewhere. Flavor of bread and phenols. Mediciney, acidic, and lip-puckering. There’s a slight hop finish, but that’s somehow pre-overpowered by the first flavors. It had a wonderful appearance and aroma, but the flavor fell quite a bit short of my thusly formed expectations.

Cloudy amber colour, with a thin head. Aroma of citrus, flowers, raisins, yeast and esters. The flavour has acidic notes, and has a fine balance between bitterness and sweetness. Strong hoppy finish.

Pours with a golden orange body topped by a thin head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet with a touch of candy sugar, a touch of skunkiness, a little hops and a touch of alcohol esters in the nose. Medium bodied, dry and smooth.

6 June 2005 -(Enich Anders B&B) - Complex sweet malt and complex hoppiness, with vinuos (celery) aromas. Cloudy light brown colour, great head and lacing. Spiritous malt, some nutty and big hop complex flavours. Big tangy aftertaste with some lingering back of the throat aftertatse, but perhaps a bit too much.
