| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 25, 2009 Draught at Brasserie Beck. Golden with a lasting white head. Spicy, dusty, and fruity aroma with pear and spiced apple skin. Some pale malt sweetness going into a dry and spicy finish. Light pear fruitiness and other yeast flavors add to the flavor, but it’s really simple and elegant. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. This handily routed Westmalle in a head to head. The alcohol is well integrated and masked, but adds to the dry and peppery finish that makes this welcome sip after sip. can8ianben (903), Pasadena, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 19, 2009 Smooth and creamy, very sweet, subtle yeasty sourness, but not extremely spicy. A thin white head. Golden color, but very cloudy. Served a bit too cold at the Yard House in Pasadena - gulp - I was told by the waitress that she’s never had anyone order this, so I guess I could be tasting a bit of a stale beer here... mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

Ruddy red-brown with a thin off white head. Notes of oxidation, fortified wine, and alcohol in the aroma. Taste is thin, more cardboard and oxidation, some spice, a light yeasty fruitiness. lebshiff21 (85), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA
