Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

Draught at Brasserie Beck. Golden with a lasting white head. Spicy, dusty, and fruity aroma with pear and spiced apple skin. Some pale malt sweetness going into a dry and spicy finish. Light pear fruitiness and other yeast flavors add to the flavor, but it’s really simple and elegant. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. This handily routed Westmalle in a head to head. The alcohol is well integrated and masked, but adds to the dry and peppery finish that makes this welcome sip after sip.

Smooth and creamy, very sweet, subtle yeasty sourness, but not extremely spicy. A thin white head. Golden color, but very cloudy. Served a bit too cold at the Yard House in Pasadena - gulp - I was told by the waitress that she’s never had anyone order this, so I guess I could be tasting a bit of a stale beer here...

bottle. huge white creamy/fizzy head into semi-sparkling murky orange body. aromas of ripe fruit, bubble gum, touch of floral notes with some citrus. flavor is initially lightly sweet and finishes much the same way with a touch of bitterness. decently long fiinish duration. slighly sticky mouthfeel. damn fine tripel

Bottle @ Zolder, Bruges. Yellow to orange and almost clear beer. The head is huge, white in colour and rocky. The aroma is floral, citrusy, sweet and spiced (coriander, orange peel). The flavor is fruity, medium sweet and bitterish. Dryish finish with herbal hoppy notes. The palate is silky, low carbonated and medium bodied. Supremely easy and pleasant to drink.

33cl bottle from BevMo. Dark "gouden" color with a small off-white head. Nose of yeast, funk, and banana. Flavor is yeasty and slightly sour with green apple, lemon, and alcohol. Smooth palate. Not the greatest tripel, but an interesting one.

Very dark for a tripel, this is definitely an old bottle. Ruddy red-brown with a thin off white head. Notes of oxidation, fortified wine, and alcohol in the aroma. Taste is thin, more cardboard and oxidation, some spice, a light yeasty fruitiness.

Banana and straw in the nose. Pours golden with a large foamy white head. Bottle overflowed with foam upon opening. Flavor is very nice, very easy to drink despite the 9 percent abv. Yeasty, straw, and fruity on the palate. Great beer.

Gouden is a pleasant surprise. A yellowish color and long everlasting head. The taste is very appealing and palate equally too much.
