Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

750 mL bottle. Pours golden straw yellow with a patchy white head, small and dissipates to a film, frothy and sticky lacing. Aroma is floral and fruity, citrus hops. light malt (hay, straw) and yeast (dough, grass) with an alcohol nose. Medium sweet yeast (dough) and fruity acidic hop flavor, flowers and earth notes, sugary and a malt body, lasting flavor. Light bodied, lively carbonation and fizzy palate.

Bottled. This one must have been off. Hazy blond, a blit vinous/sourish, but it shows sure signs of being either infected or stored improperly.

Very sweet with banana hints, Yeasty which comes from the top fermentation. Smooth, whopping alcohol taste will knock you on your ass if you're not careful.

Bottle. This beer formed a very large white head that was foamy with fine-small sized bubbles that were mostly lasting. The body was transparent, carbonated and yeasty with a yellow hue. The nose was fruity and alcohol. The flavor was of alcohol and somewhat bitter tasting. The mouthfeel was smooth and the lacing was fair.

Orange amber body with a sturdy light tan head. Nose is sweet with candy sugar malt and alcohol and citrus notes. Sweet taste with more sugar and malt and white grapes and the tongue is surrounded with some effervescent bubbles in the mouthfeel and a light bitterness and dryness through the finish. Very good beer!

Bottle. Golden/orangey looking beer with a strong head. The aroma is quite spiced and mulled, the flavour is vinous, warming, and sweetly spiced. Overall a very reasonable beer.

Beverage Warehouse, Roswell, Ga - 750 ml corked bottle. Dark golden, slightly murky with a wispy thin, lacy head, looks like champagne. Clean, fresh aroma with hints of lemon, butterscotch and mown grass. interesting and slightly complex flavor. Pick up some fruitiness, akin to the flavor of pears. Some estery notes, a bit of butter and some white wine. Just the right amount of spritziness, does not feel like I am drinking champagne, my complaint about some tripels. Overall, very good.

Like other Gouden Carolus beers very nice brew. Golden coloured, small white head, fruity coriander nose. Aroma is yeasty, fruity and spicy with mild notes of honey and vanilla.
