Very delicate aroma, of some gym or candy. Big mouthful of malt, sweetness, spices and end up winery, what a great taste, a very good tripel. Svesse (2679), Hässelby, Sweden

Fruity nose with citrus, orange, spicy hints of clove and coriander. Quite lovely aroma actually. Fruity, slightly citric taste with citrus (orange, lemon) and a nice, spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, balanced sweetness. Brilliant balance. Very nice beer. notalush (2675), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 4, 2004 One of the most unique tripels I’ve yet had - burnt copper color, with spicy, musty, earthy aroma - interesting mix of flavors, with peaches, pickled ginger, nutmeg, and a touch of cinnamon - long, mellow, finish that tastes somewhat like christmas cookies - very different for a tripel, but very good. nick76 (2669), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 26, 2006 The aroma is super sweet like hard sugar candy with yeast, malt, and spices. The appearance is a lightly amber gold with a small head. The flavor is slightly medicinal but has fruits, sugar, malt, and warming alcohol. The palate is on the lighter side but still smooth and not watery. I like most things about this beer. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 13, 2003 The beer as it sets in the “Triple” glass is a ambiguous golden orange color, the head is portly in size, the color and off white, and the texture spumous, as the head decays, it leaves behind a fine covering of lace to seal off the glass. The nose is loaded with malt aromas, slightly plummish, crisp and fresh, the start is malt laden and lightly sweet. The top is middling in feel, the acidity biting, and the hops purposeful in their spicy bite, also vinous, tart and the aftertaste quite dry and long lasting.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2006 Pours a cloudy gold with a nice, long lasting head. Aroma is sugary sweet and spicy as hell, yeasty with artichoke and beets. The flavor shares a lot with the other GC beer I’ve had, the Grand Cru, in that it has a sweet sucrose taste that is very distinct and quite pleasing. It is lively and spicy in the mouth, sweet but also a touch sour at the finish, slightly harsh but very drinkable. There is a certain licorice/anise flavor that shows up as it warms, as well. If I homebrewed, I’d love to cultivate this yeast and see what I could do with it. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Sweet spiced Aroma with hints of lemon. Light malt flavor, some light hints of fruit, with some sharp spices showing through. PilsnerPeter (2617), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 22, 2008 Bottle at some Beer Hall in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Hazy lively golden pour with a huge & frothy white head. Nicely aromatic with Belgian yeast esters. Some herbal notes, mild bubblegum (without being sweet), honey, dates and very subtle lemon peel. Nice aroma. The body has a dense and creamy carbonation, that’s actually a bit too lively at first, then it settles down nicely. The flavor has a solid Belgian malt base, making it a bit honeyish overall, along with mild lemon peel, smooth peppery alcohol and an herbal Belgian hop bitter finish. Not the most complex, but definitely solid.
