Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

Bottle shared with the crew, thanks blankboy. Yellow pour, medium white head. Yeast, lemon, bread aroma. medium mouthfeel. Lemon and yeast taste, slightly sweet as well. Ends with a maple syrup like sweetness. Very easy to drink and well made, it just didn’t blow my socks off like others from this brewery. Nice stuff.

[309-20070510] Bottle (w/ jerc). Smells like sweet nail polish, alcoholic banana and some pine wood. Hazy, golden yellow orange body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Sweet alcoholic flavour, slightly woody, some banana notes. Medium-full body. Blending fine but very boozy.

Bottle: Big yeasty aroma wiht moderate banana, apple, spice, pepper, and a hint of alcohol. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a big creamy white head with great retention and a thick coating of lacing. The flavor starts with mdoerate apple, bubblegum, and light banana. The finish has very light flowery bitterness, light orange peel, and a hint of pepper. There is a very mild tartness in the background.

On draft at the brewery tap, March 2007. Gold coloured with a large white head. Aroma of sweet malt, coriander and citrus. The flavour had more spice, honey and a dry finish. Very enjoyable.

Vaporous honey sweet aroma. Alcohol, light brown sugar, bit of yeast, mild astringency. Hazy, some sediment in golden amber with white lacing creamy head. High carb in medium silky body. Taste is sweet to start, some hops. Followed by malt & yeast astringency - not chalky - and low bitterness. After is light alcoholic & watery bitter.

Bottle, barley wheat and some spice notes on the nose. Hazy golden body with white head and some lace. Has a citric acid, spice and yeasty bread in the lavor and some zesty soapy thing going on. Alright little dry on palate decent brew.

Smells like a triple with just a little extra malt. Pretty dry, w/some noticeable finishing hops. Another nice beer, no. 27, for the list.

on tap: This surprised me - wasn’t expecting such a great blend yeast and hops, both in the nose and flavor. Typical tripel spiciness in the middle. Complex with a great body and balance.
