Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

Dull muddy beige with some spritz and a thin head. Looks terrible. BBD in 2009. Very doughy nose is slightly spicy, a little papery. Maybe that BBD was a touch optimistic. Hugely perfumey character is all lavender and five dollar jugs of grandma perfume. Some dry alcohol notes and dough-inflected pale malts. Dusty yeast is also a factor. Gets a bit of icing sugar character as it warms. Can I get a meh?

Hazy amber color. Malt, alcohol, egg nose. Good strength, but too much alcohol; otherwise, just reasonable malt and a quite stronger bitterness.

Cloudy orange body with medium off-white head. Aroma is sweet, berry and orange, some spice. Taste is kind of like a souped-up Wit, spicy malty. Alcohol is evident in a mildly astringent aftertaste.

Hazy orange with big off-white head. Aroma is fruity: prunes and grapefruit. Flavor has raisins, malt, prune. Full-bodied. Hides ABV very well, drier than Classic.

Bottle from Dranken Geers. Gold, thick rocky head. Perfumed aroma. It’s rather a good tripel, nice strongish hop on the finish. Slight peach on aroma. Settles down into an alright tripel. I quite liked it. Decent hop on finish. Bit of hot alcohol.

Golden, hazy with an incredibly nice and lasting head. The aroma is sweetish with notes of fruit and malt. The flavour is sweet with notes of candy sugar, fruit - especially lime. The alcohol is a bit too dominating, but it’s a really nice trippel.
