Still has an amazing nose, but the taste is very, very good in my second sample. Very spicy and zippy. Finish hangs around, nice, tasty, sugary ending to this brew. Original rating: Wondrous nose, spicy and fruity. Flavor starts quite nice, plenty of banana and zippiness, but the finish sort of disappears. Very dry, doesn't have any ending zing. Hazed, buffed and pale yellow in color with a thick, tall and sudsy white head. Sweet, soapy lemon shine aroma is aided by shrocked lemon rind shavings, lemon-pistachio buttercream, coriander, vanilla beans and banana taffy. Sweet, creamy bananas meld with a lemon saltwater taffy character. Fluffy effervescence is well met by the dry, lemon buttered sourdough. Chewy sorghum and a sweetened papaya-banana smoothie characteristic eventually spinn into a dry, tropical and citric outtake. Full-bodied, followed by a sharp, dry cotton bitterness. Marigolds with a creamy nectar blanket envelops the palate with a vanilla mint creamy glossiness at the end. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

The aroma is fruity with hints of raisins. Sweet lingering finish, but not as good as their other brews that I’ve had. AmEricanbrew (1925), Wynot, Wyoming, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 17, 2004 Bottle picked up in Belgium. Pours gold, white head. Spicy/peppery aroma. Interestingly it’s like a high gravity witbier, it shares similar spiceyness, and is without the dry hoppinness you find in some triples ucusty (1900), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 28, 2008 Pours a pale hazy yellow with a two finger creamy white head. The nose was sweet, yeasty, grapes, spicy, some white pepper, cardamom, orange peel and lemongrass show as it warms. The flavor was sweet, nice spicy/yeasty character, curacao, hoppyness shows as it warms, peppery. I’d have to say this is one of my favorite tripels, very nice and very gratifying as it warms.
