Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

Hazy orange with huge head. Very bready nose with hints of fresh citrus. Massively carbonated with some light spices tickling my nose. Buttery and sugary at the end, no alcohol detected. Decent.

This golden ale poured with a long-lasting fluffy white head. The flavor is more like a saison than like a classic Belgian Tripel - very fruity and light, with no noticeable alcohol taste and a dry finish.

75 cl. bottle pours a light amber fluid with a decent two finger white head. Smells peppery, lemongrass.Medium bodied with a bubbley, lively mouthfeel. Superb lemongrass, black pepper, leather, and woody oak wine barrel taste. Finishes with a slight hop - alcohol tang. Another great Belgium triple.2003

750mL, no date. Pours a clear golden with gigantic, frothy white head. Aroma has some yeast, spicy hops, banana, candy sugar, and light oranges. Flavor a lot more stale fruity than I had anticipated, with a nice, dry finish. Overall taste leans much more to sweetness, with some raisins and oranges being up front. Thick mouthfeel, still fairly carbonation despite everything that went to its head. There is a little warming in the back of the throat from the ETOH.

Pous a lightly cloudy gold color, with a medium frothy white head. smells of Belgian candy sugar, sticky sweet fruits, and some yeast. Nice sharp smell. The flavor was much the same, with all the standard flavors of a tripel. Not overly sweet, with a definite good dosage of alcohol which was noticeable throughout. The fruits seem to keep the sweetness at bay for the most part. Not my favorite style, but this is well crafted.

I have had the triple from Het Anker, which I personally consider to be a world class brewery many times before, but this is the first review. Golden. A simply intoxicating aroma, lovely at times, not as others. Notes of cinnamon, deep malt, peaches, pears, icing and orange peels. It’s better fresh but this is still great. Tropical fruitiness (lemon, pear, pineapple) throughout along with a mild hop bite on the finish. Just a great triple.

On tap at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse. Nice tripel that I have been waiting a while to try. Pour was a cloudy gold with a finger head. Aroma was sweet and yeasty. Taste was strong and different than I’ve had for a tripel. Tasted like a yeasty dry Belgian with crushed up Fruity Pebbles in it yet had some citrus and lemon in the background. Perfumy in the mouth and in the swallow. This is a unique beer.
