Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

Delicious stuff. Full of flavor and a terrific finish that ends in a wonderful, malty, brown sugar that goes on and on - much like I would enjoy drinking this - on and on. Quite good. Many thanks to the incredible Dougster.

Thick firm head, golden orange body, slightly cloudy. Peach(baked), citrus, and sweet malt nose. Very fruity, yet hint of malt character. Light alcohol presence. Very nice finish.

Hazy dull yellow with white head. Pleasant sweet and tart, musty aroma with hard candy, yeast, banana, some spiciness. Sharp in flavor with a balancing alcohol note. Very interesting flavors. Slightly floral, a bit earthy, somewhat herbal, with citrus highlights. Spritzy mouthfeel. Fast, spicy finish.

Interesting brew. Cloudy dark orange color. Aroma and flavor both are strongly reminding me of wine or old port. A bit sweet and a small amount of bitterness too in the flavor. Overall a nice and interesting brew.

Light orange in color, very cloudy, with a nice off-brown head that is mostly diminishing. Toffee, caramel, honey, and light grapefruit aroma. Flavor has a definite pepperiness to it, I kept getting hints of finely ground black pepper. Other than that, a nice light caramel, brown sugar backbone. Slightly alcoholic finish. Pretty nice.

750ml bottle. Hazy yellow color, with a thick white head. The flavor is of bananas, and a sweetness I can’t pin down. The flavor is a mix of sweetness with bitterness thrown in. A little spice, honey, and hops, with a finish of some yeast. Nice warming sensation and the alcohol isn’t too obvious.

Attractive golden color with a nice fluffy off white head that is nicely retained. Aroma is wonderful. Figs, candy sugar and spices meld in a delicous melody of scents. Flavor is complex. Initial flavor is kinda harsh hairspray, then everything settles out and the finish is deliciously spicy. Very nice mouth feel. Very good Abbey Tripel.

Pours yellow/gold, with a fairly large, white head. Malt, yeast and earth aromas, similar to Duvel. Flavor is malt, yeast, and some honey. It just seems to be missing something that would put it into the upper ranks. Alcohol is very well hidden. If I hadn’t known it was 9%, I would have guessed something like 6% or 7%.
