Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

750 mL bottle via Lubiere, served cool in a tulip glass. MA19/07

App.: Cloudy deep golden, fair off-white head, generous lacing. Aroma: Very sweet, candi sugar, some dried fruits, peaches and apricots, some molasses and brown sugar; a little honey and alcohol. Yummy. Palate: Syrupy, medium bodied, mildly effervescent carbonation. Flav.: Salty-sweet, honey, floral, peaches and other fruits; more brown sugar and candied fruits, some yeastiness; restrained bitterness, a little warming alcohol, definitely mouth-coating. I get some cardboard too…can it be?? And brown (oxidized) apples.

330 ml bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar: Started foaming out of the bottle when I popped the cap. Hazy pale peach color with a small fading white head. Aroma is honey and over ripe tropical fruit. Flavor starts tropical fruit sweet followed by spice, caramel and a medium dry orangy finish. Medium body is creamy with lively carbonation.

Competent but won’t blow you away. Blond ale-like with sweet malts and hints of corriander. Eats up the 9% with ease. (e2.60 on tap at Kulminator).

Different not your average tripel. The cork hit the ceiling without hardly touching it. Poured a golden color with good head and good lacing. Lots of honey in the aroma and light fruits. Flavor had a lot of grapes in it and honey/floral to it as well. Very smooth beer. Eagle said like a mead i would have to agree.

75cl bottle. Hazy yellow, tight pale head. Solid pilsner malty aroma, soft yeastiness, limefruit and wheat, clear witbier notes. Alcoholic flavor, yeastiness, mellow malts, peppery spicy finish. Some lime, overall a bit too boozy. Silky strong carbonation, very pleasant to sip. Alright tripel, nothing that interesting.

Just one of the finest belgium beers. A cloudy yellow coloured beer, fulle palate, spicy bitter taste.

Big head, banana nose, slightly hazy orangish gold body. More fruit than spice, with some bite in the front of the mouth and a smooth finish. The 9% ABV isn’t very noticeable.
