Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

Hazy, deep golden ale with a large, frothy, white head. Thin, weepy lacing. The nose is of fuzzy fruit, leather, alcohol and a whisper of beef broth. Full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Bold, sweet, alcoholic finish. Thanks to jbrus for the bottle.

cloudy dark orange colour, dense creamy head and a nice lace, peach, hazelnut and yeasty, very smooth, full-bodied, dry finishing bitterness, bubblegum-like aftertaste with notes of alcohol

Colour between old gold and amber, slightly hazy (not cold haze); thick yellowish head. Alcoholic nose, liqueurish, sugar and preserved sugared fruit. Explicitly sweet and alcoholic taste, fruit sugar as preserved figs or 'marrons glacées', etc., sultana's. Somewhere a woody touch. Lots and lots of alcoholburn in the mouthfeel, very dry. A triple, yes, with with the G.C. fingerprint all over it. Again a good one, IMO, because it is an original interpretation. I dislike copycats.

Bottle conditioned aged 7 yrs. Gold to light brown with white head. The aging has produced a smoother beer than I remember, however there is still a perfumed candy like flavour, almost strawberry in the background. The malt has a honeyed character, but is still light for the ABV and age. Nice and yeasty sweet on the finish. A very nice beer.

Pours gold with a white head. Smells of bubblegum, oranges, dry malt, light spice, perfume. Tastes of citrus with a semi dry finish and some residual spice. Decent.

Potent caramel and thick malts serve as a bed for some light herbs and cantaloup…An alcohol whip lashes in tandem with some hop bitterness…A tripel on the sweet side of things, but then again that is to be expected from these masters of the malt…

Bottle: Golden, small persistent white creamy head, lazy carbonation; solid sweetish-fruity (oranges) nose with a citrousy-hoppy support; robust bitter-sweet flavour, quite full bodied, creamy MF; lingering orangey-hoppy finish with a lot of sweet pale malt. A goody.....
