Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

bottle, pours light yellow, tall white head. Aroma is floral hop and corriander. Light malt, slightly sweet mixed with corriander and a nice bitter hop finish. Moderately carbonated with a light mouthfeel. This is a great tripel!

Pours light orange with a tall foaming off white head. Fantastic spiced bread, herbal aroma. Caramel, kiwi, pepper. Toasty. Very dry with some sharp honey notes. Grass and strawberry in the finish. Although not a text book tripel, this stuff is very tastey.

Big bottle pours hazed pale oak veneer color with a proud head that takes time to die off leaving very little lace. The aroma has strong malts, yeast, citrus/banana fruits, and floral. The flavor is fruity, yeasty, spicy, malty, kind of dry, and some faint bitterness. The palate consists of refreshing and cleansing carbonation infused in a medium bodied feel. The finish is rather quick and dry. This is one of the better Triples I’ve had in some time. Post script - as usual with my ratings of Belgians, the yeast pour and temperature make things much more interesting! Oh, and I broke out some Tillamook cheddar to accompany and it works well!

Poured out a nice amber brew until the junk on the bottom infiltrated my glass....that’s ok though. Small bright white crown, thin retention, slippery lacing. I guess it’s been awhile since I’ve had a nice tripel so the aroma here is killer! Apricots, a bit musty, peppery, caramel and bread - put all that stuff in a blender and drink it... how do we get a way with it in a beer? The taste here is great as well - lends to very easy drunkeness. Smooth fruitiness (more apricots, white grape juice?? - I’ll have to check that one out I think), weak caramel is blended in nicely, a bit of yeast, good pepper quantity on the finish. This is the softest tripel I may have ever had. I’m on my 4th since I started this review. I’m trashed. So damn good you don’t want to waste time typing. Mouthfeel is great! Smooth and soft with a bit of alcohol bit. medium bodied... nice spicy and candy finish. The spice has good legs for the finish. Did I mention that I went old school on the tunes this whole time? W.A.S.P. self titled. Blow me.
OK. I saved the sediment from each of the 4 bottles I just drank and poured them all into one glass and then slammed it back. I tell you, that may be one of the best glasses of beer I’ve ever had. Woop Woop! My poor liver...

Bottled. Pours deep orange with some small light sediment pieces floating around and a white head. Aroma is banana, clove, slight hint of barbasol shaving cream, belgian yeast, and spices. Flavor is sweet belgian yeast, banana, and well spiced. Good solid body with a slight hint of barbasol throughout the experience.

Deep golden colour with a beautiful and lasting white head. Impressive fruity aroma! Initial flavour is fruity too, then sweet and somewhat spicy. Sweet and bitter finish. Decent abbey trippel but too sweet imho.

Aroma is fresh bananas. Flavor has a hop bite with a sweet body. Like an evil ex :) Bitter finish with sweet notes. Definite Bazooka Bubblegum notes in this one.
