Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

Pours a cloudy light orange with a thick and creamy head. No lacing, but the head does stick around for quite some time. Aroma is slightly sweet with some coriander and oragne. Taste is a nice blend of fruit and spiciness. Some banana and bready notes come through as well some cinnanmon and orange peel. Overall, it’s really pretty good. Maybe just a hint of alcohol on the back end, but far from distracting. A good tripel.

Pours a cloudy golden color with thick, foamy white head. Nice fuity aroma of apple, pear and grape. Very pleasantly crisp with hints of lighter fruits such as apple, pear and grape with a nice alcohol balance rendering it not too sweet. I enjoyed this beer very much.

Sampled in Nancy, France: Came from the tap golden and with a very slight haze, and a white head, that laced nicely on the glass. Aroma was of spice, some banana esters, and alcohol. Flavor was the same, estery, with some spice and a hint of alcohol. medium and bubbley on the mouth feel. Excellent triple.

Nice warmblond beer with an orange reflection. The head is very fine and smooth. The smell off this beer is straightforward with impressions of ripe banana and orange marmelade. The taste is full and round and it has a fine bitterness. The alcohol touch in the end reminds me on a triple sec (Grand Marnier),but it also has a fine frechness in the end.I think that this beer is very drinkable and it has an original taste.

Another great belgian triple. Smoother and creamier than some. Caramel sweetness balanced with mild yeastiness and sourness. Banana bread came to mind at one point. Hoppy enough to give it bite and little spiciness.

33cl. Bottle. Cloudy yellow/orange with some head and a little lacing. Slighty astringent spiciness that turns very sweet at the end. I think this bottle is a little off. I have had much better Coulden Carolus beers in the past. I wll just have to try this again.

On tap at Brasserie Beck in Washington DC. Nice golden color with a big fluffy head. Slightly hoppy, clean finish and easy to drink. A touch harsh on the back end though. Good beer
