Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

This poured a cloudy golden yellow color with a big white head. Aroma was sweet, a big spicey and fruit notes but not much. Flavor was much better than aroma, mainly with hints of citrusy and light fruits. This didnt exactly strike me as close to the style, but as a beer it is very good stuff.

On tap at leons. Cut through my spicey, herby pork chop really nicely. Bright yellow, slightly hazy color. Big white head. Nice spice, clove, all spice and grassy herbal hop flavors. Really good carbonation dances on the palate. Medium bodied malt, wheat flavors.

small bottle. Pours a cloudy orange/gold with a very tall and well formed white head. I’m surpsised at the sheer amount of pepper in the aroma. I’ve noticed other similar beers suggest pepper, but this one is excedingly rich in vegetal aromas. I also get lemon, banana, and soft spices. The palate is delightfully creamy while the flavor leans more towards fruits and dry spices than in the vegetal direction. This is a very smooth and complete package. It has just a tinge of wildness and a solid fruity sweet foundation. It’s delicate, yet robust. Very well done tripel.

Pours bright gold into a tulip. Bright white micro head slowly recedes. Sweet raisin aromas. Dry and tart with a lasting bitter/sweet finish.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden body with a white 2 finger head. Floral with nice belgian fruits, lemon, bananas, and berries. Bubble gum and lightly spiced. Good beer.

11.2oz. Hazy golden pour with a white head. Spice and malt in the aroma. Hoppy and hugely fruity - apples, pear nectar, tangerine. Matching flavor - sticky and sweet. Decent finish. Nice beer.

Draught at reBar. Hazy amber with a frothy white head. Pronounced yeast aroma, like half baked bread, with light fruity notes--banana, apple, pear, citrus. Off-sweet bready malt flavor with some mild yeasty notes. Fruity and well rounded. Subtle spices-not overpowering or too peppery. Medium to full body with a mostly smooth mouthfeel--fine light carbonation. Very enjoyable.

Smouldering bottle, elusive herbal nose. Misty apricot tulip with rocky froth that goes the distance. One sniff of this and I’m tripping across the cobbles, goggling skyward at the floodlit majesty of the Belfort and piddling against a church. Make no mistake, this is dangerous. But a beauty. Devilishly smooth malty booze and dry yeasty spice. Mysterious woody perfume. Distilled Orval with a wormwood chaser. Vague glowing numbness in the toes. Green Fairy shandy. Going for a lie down now.
