Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

Beautiful golden body with a full white head. Strong aroma of a hay field plus tons of sweet sugary stuff plus fruit and spices. The mouthfeel is amazing. Maybe one of the creamiest beers I’ve had. Very buttery tasting with an after taste that might be a bit too sweet.

Corked bottle from Party Source. Poured hazy orange color with a huge frothy white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Complex spicy fruit and yeasty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and lively carbonation. Medium to heavy fruity sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to long duration with a small alcohol bite. This is a good sweet beer.

I paid $4.55 at the Northcoast Coop in Eureka. This poured a clear golden color with a nice fat white head and copious lacing. Nose of citrus and fruit, with some clove spice. Somewhat fizzy mouthfeel, but not unpleasant. Flavor is yeasty with lots of fruits. Very nice to drink.

Hazy, "cerise de terre" colored, good head but poor retention, yet the bubbling is small and compact. Aroma of butter, ripe lemon, pear and pepper. The aroma is not bright, in terms of intensity and 3d. Flavor is moderately sweet and taken over by an ethylic bitterness, perhaps somewhat reminiscent of wood. The texture is buttery, oily and smooth, even sensual! Very enjoyable, but could be more precisely defined as for the aroma and flavor.

750 ml. bottle. Pours a huge fluffy gradually deflating white head, over a clear, pale yellow (SRM 5) body.....nose is spice, including clove, allspice, bit of banana, bubblegum....taste initially is minimally sweet malts, followed up by allspice, lemon, apple and pineapple, finishes dry with a bit of pepper with attractive lacing.....mouth feel is light to medium, carbonation very high. This is a very typical Triple, a style that I love, with all the usual spice and layers of complex nose and taste.

Medium white head. Golden body. Full, deep, soft golden fruity sweetish aroma of milky honey, malts, toffee, spice, and hops. Incredible harmony and balance; almost perfect. Sharp, spicy milky honey taste with notes of tobacco and fruit. Dry, musty malty tobacco aftertaste. (0.33l bottle from Dorstvlegel, Antwerp. Probably not a perfect bottle. Want to rerate. And rerate. And rerate.)

pour is a light blond with a bit of pure white head. Aroma is at first a little disapointing, but after a few wiffs I thought that it actually wasn’t bad and in keeping with the style. There are hints of orange and other fruits in addition to the nice maltyness. Flavor is very good. It’s light and airy with a citrus component. Good beer, I’d drink it again.
