Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

0.75l - Gold color with epic head even in a wetted glass. Yeast on the nose, spicy palate with a mildly sour finish. Classic Belgium. What’s not to love?

Just had this beer for the first time on draft a few weeks ago. Strong aroma of spices and nice head. Definite complex flavors but could pick up some citrus tones. Great mouthful and leaves you with a clean finish. Definite recommend

THOUGHTS: Hid alcohol incredibly well. One of the nicest tripels I ever had. I always avoided this because I figured it would be boring compared to their other beers, but they seem to do everything well. TECHNICAL: Bottle Poured a slightly hazy, medium golden with an average to large, foamy, white head that slowly diminished and kept a thick sheet leaving excellent lacing in thick sheets on the side of the glass. The aroma was moderate malt, moderate yeast along with fruit, spices and flowers. The initial flavor was sweet and acidic; while the flavor was bitter and slightly sour with a long duration. There was candy sugar, yeast, fruit, flowers, spices and a lot more that I couldn’t even begin to describe. The medium to full body was dry with very fizzy carbonation and a dry and light astringent finish.

27/10 0.33 l bottle at Hopdevil. Pours murky golden body with nice big head. Wonderful aroma of fruits with specific yeast. Flavor nice, quite sweet, not too complex though, but very full bodied. Alcohol is not really felt. May not be typical as it lacks that triple bitterness, but it’s still fantastic. Creamy texture on palate. Finish is very nice, sweet, pleasant and quite long. Another fantastic brew from this fantastic brewery.

Standard tripel pour, decent head. Aroma is fruity and sweet. Taste is strawberry, banana, lovely clear hop flavour, not too dry with a pleasant sweet finish. Excellent beer.

Bottle. Pours a hazy, golden color with an extremely large, frothy white head. Lacing is excellent and head has some extreme staying power. Aromas of bananas, barley, biscuit, and a hint of citrus. Lively mouthfeel with a nice slick, sticky finish. Flavors of bananas, bread, flowers, and some citrus. Wonderful beer!

This beer looks kewl, it has a massive mountain of white foam and a very cloudy yellowy brown body. The smell is sweet with yeast and lemon being the biggest aspects of the smell; I could also pick caramel and banana, as beer got warmer. The beer feels thick and smooth in my mouth with not too much carbonation. Full, full flavour doesn’t taste watered down one bit. There’s kind of an orangey wood flavour to this brew and I like it. Yeast is an other flavour that quit prevalent, I also got creamy caramel at the back of my throat. The beer has lots of creamy citrus juice flavours hidden in the taste, this is a very complex beer. It’s a simply amazing beer very easy drinking and you can’t taste the high alc. content at all."

My store recently received this beer not too long ago. I was told by the employee that this was his favorite of the brand that they currently had in stock, so I went ahead and bought a four-pack. This is some amazing beer. The appearance is wonderful. I had a taste of it very cold, and it was great, but I think when it warmed up a little bit, it hit the spot just right. Overall, this is probably one of the best beers I have been able to try in my location.
