Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

Sampled from 750ml bottle. Hazy and golden hued. White head. Floral and caramel nose. Sticky and honeyish. Touch bready. Lively effervescence. Medium to full bodied. Dry palate. Floral yeasty flavors. Good bitter finish.

Bottle, split with after4ever. Pours a cloudy dark gold with a lacy white head. Aroma of fruit with sweet citrus hints. Creamy medium body, light carbonation. Sweet caramel apple and candy taste that dries out in time for the finish.

Another winner from this brewery, albeit one that’s not quite at the level of the Grand Cru (or possibly even of the underrated Ambrio). It’s got all the qualities I look for in a tripel - rich flavor of sweet malt and tart fruit, slight heat - but is simply a bit too thin on the mouthfeel. That aside, it’s more than solid and I’ll return to it again.

Bottle. Color is golden, with a nice big head with excellent duration. Aroma is fruit and malt. Light malt flavor, some light hints of fruit, with some fruity showing through.

0.33l bottle at home. Yellow with thin white head. Some lacing remained on the glass. Spicy aroma with hint of orange and alcohol. Thick smooth mouthful. Taste is sweet at the beginning and spicy bitter at the end. Long warm feeling after you have a sip. Good triple.

Pours hazy bubbly golden with thick, dense white head with lots of lace. Floral and lightly citrus hops in the nose along with doughy grain aroma. Flavor is fruity, lightly sweet, orange and lemon, some deeper fruity esters – apple, peach - hints of herbal hops along with crisp resiny bitterness, lingering bitter and very light alcohol burn in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is very lively, bubbly, rich and textured. I likey.
