Commercial Description:
In spite of modern brewing technology, this beer is brewed according to ancient traditions. It unites, now as in the past, the best products of our soil: rich barley and fine hops.. It's refined character, with a pure and rich taste, will captivate you. It is matured at length in cellar and bottle, and is guaranteed to be brewed only from pale malts. It is traditionally top-fermented and is 100% pure. The Gouden Carolus Triple has a unique colour and a full flavour due to its well-balanced hopping. To properly savour the Golden Carolus “Triple”, pour slowly in one movement leaving the yeast deposit in the bottle. This beer may be served cool but not chilled: 7-8°C is recommended. In 2002 this beer won the Gold Award in the World Beer Cup, San Diego, USA in the “Triple” category.

My store recently received this beer not too long ago. I was told by the employee that this was his favorite of the brand that they currently had in stock, so I went ahead and bought a four-pack. This is some amazing beer. The appearance is wonderful. I had a taste of it very cold, and it was great, but I think when it warmed up a little bit, it hit the spot just right. Overall, this is probably one of the best beers I have been able to try in my location.

Rich malt, tropical fruit and yeast in the aroma, some floral sweetness and spice, also a tinge of alcohol. Medium golden color, particulate haze, and a large-bubbled, diminishing head. Malty and sweet up front, followed by a blend of light citrus fruit before a rush of spicy, herbal, and nicely bittering hops. Finish is lightly acidic, long and alcoholic, with a malty aftertaste featuring a few floral and honey notes. Smooth, vinous mouthfeel and generous body. Warming. As this neared room temperature it really awoke, so to speak. Very enjoyable Tripel.

Re-rate, 1/25/03. Still has an amazing nose, but the taste is very, very good in my second sample. Very spicy and zippy. Finish hangs around, nice, tasty, sugary ending to this brew. Original rating: Wondrous nose, spicy and fruity. Flavor starts quite nice, plenty of banana and zippiness, but the finish sort of disappears. Very dry, doesn't have any ending zing.

on tap: This surprised me - wasn’t expecting such a great blend yeast and hops, both in the nose and flavor. Typical tripel spiciness in the middle. Complex with a great body and balance.

hazy golden with a white ring on the edge. aroma is juicy fruit and spicy as mother f'er! initially this beer is sweet as hell and it almost immediately numbs the tongue. there is only the slight presence of alcohol here. the aroma is just amazing as hell. also noticed a perfumey presence as it warms

Tap, at the brewery restaurant March 2004. Gold colour with good white head and good condition. Excellently spiced nose with corriander, curacao and grain all apparent. Sweet and spicy in the mouth with a slightly flowery perfumed note on a good solid base of malt. Long sweet and spicy finish. Seems more subdued in bottle, but on tap was superb. I don't normally like tripels but this one impressed.

Faintly hazy gold orange with smallish short lasting yellow head. Luscious fruity hops, spices and honey, with some candy malt aroma. Medium -large body. Strong nicely balanced, bitter-sweet palate hiding the 9% very well. Softer dry bitter refreshing finish and long fruity sweet burp. Recommended to all lovers of strong Belgians - go and get yourself some.

Bottled: Golden orange coloured. Lasting white head. Very spicy and fruity aroma. Light alcahol notes. Fruity, malty and sweet flavour. When the beer warms up, you can feel the alcahol on the lips. Has a pleasant fruity aftertaste with a little alcahol bite. Great beer.
