Skeegle (318), USA Jul 16, 2008 I wasn’t extremely impressed by this beer, especially after having Het Anker’s other excellent beers. This one was just pure yeastiness. It was like a honey drenched yeast bomb. I had high expectations, but I guess abbey tripel isn’t a style of mine, as I have had bad experiences in the past.
JohnnyOS (625), Golden, Wisconsin, USA Oct 6, 2008 Pours hazy dark gold with thick head. Floral hop aroma with a touch of yeast. Light fruit and malt flavor with a clean hop finish. pellegjr (5), , Ohio, USA does not count Sep 20, 2008 Cloudy pale gold color, thick foamed head with heavy lacing, flowery hop bouquet, fruited smooth malt head and body with a clean tactful hop finish, complex flavor profile, highly sessionable gerardoluna (168), Mexico Sep 18, 2008 [Eyes] Great pale yellow with a big foamy white head.
[Nouse] Citrus, floral and bannana, in deep alcohol is present.
[Mouth] smooth body is spice, floral, alcoholic taste in deep and hops and hops and hops! a bitter long afthertaste. NachlamSie (1383), Tennessee, USA Sep 15, 2008 small bottle. Pours a cloudy orange/gold with a very tall and well formed white head. I’m surpsised at the sheer amount of pepper in the aroma. I’ve noticed other similar beers suggest pepper, but this one is excedingly rich in vegetal aromas. I also get lemon, banana, and soft spices. The palate is delightfully creamy while the flavor leans more towards fruits and dry spices than in the vegetal direction. This is a very smooth and complete package. It has just a tinge of wildness and a solid fruity sweet foundation. It’s delicate, yet robust. Very well done tripel. gary07734 (165), Tyne & Wear, England Sep 15, 2008 Standard tripel pour, decent head. Aroma is fruity and sweet. Taste is strawberry, banana, lovely clear hop flavour, not too dry with a pleasant sweet finish. Excellent beer.
