Commercial Description:
Editor’s note: 200 bottles of 75 cl produced.

English: We brewed this beer in August 2007 with a lot of dark malts and molasses, fermenting it with lager yeast for over 3 months. While we were waiting we took a bourbon barrel aside and filled it with the beer straight from the fermenter. We put the barrel in a dark corner and left it until now.

Black. Medium palate on this beer, I was hoping for something a little sweeter and thicker. Still, without carbonation. The bourbon overwhelmes any of the baltic porter flavors that might have been there before, but for a bourbon beer, it is well done and I like it. Usuallly I don’t.

Bottle LCRBM08. Literally black. Wood, wine, vanilla, liquorice and dry dark malt in the nose. Solid dry bitter flavour, full bodied. Traces of barrique in the fruity and leathery finish. Very vinous brew.....

Trade with Fonefan. It’s pitch black with a small, light-brow, creamy head. The aroma has notes of oak, vanilla, raisin, roasted malt, licorice and whisky. The flavour has sweetness and a roasted bitterness, notes of oak, vanilla, bourbon, licorice, light cocoa and chocolate, and it hides the 11% very well. It’s smooth, pleasant and very harmonic – very nice indeed!

Bottle at LCRBM08. Very nice vanilla aroma. Black colour, no head. Distinct vanilla flavour, very citric. Not bad citrus note, but I would prefer it without that.

Bottle@LCRBM 2008. Aroma is very woody, has whisky, coffee malts. Black coloured beer with not much head. The taste is sweet with woody whisky notes, chocolate/coffee, roast and dark/overripe fruits. Truly wonderfull. The name is impressive, but I would rather call it ’’’’Gourmetbryggeriet Brewers Limited Edition Reserve Single Cask Aged Double Imperial Porter Project Batch 001’’’’. Or something. :-)

Bottle@LCRBM 2008. A very black colored beer, with no head. The aroma of spices with pure chocolate with strong coffee. The taste of sweet chocolate with a lot a sweet dark fruits like cherries. The aftertaste is bittersweet.

There’s much, much to love here. Lovely smooth palate--I love it when you can produce something that is smooth yet well supported. Wood and whiskey in an excellent blend with the coffee/chocolate notes. Although the alcohol is apparently high, it really isn’t that apparent. Gosh, this is really good.
