Commercial Description:
Editor’s note: 200 bottles of 75 cl produced.

English: We brewed this beer in August 2007 with a lot of dark malts and molasses, fermenting it with lager yeast for over 3 months. While we were waiting we took a bourbon barrel aside and filled it with the beer straight from the fermenter. We put the barrel in a dark corner and left it until now.

Bottle @ LCRBM 2008. Loads of oak and raisin in the aroma. Very sweet, somewhat vinous flavor with bourbon, vanilla, raisin, plums, grapes and ash. Very complex, very much a sipping beer. Tasted excellent in less than ideal circumstances.

LCRBM08: 75 cL bottle. Pours pitch black with a fully gone head. Aroma is mild spiced and dense malty. Very wineous too. A nice and inviting aroma reallt. Spiced and winous flavoured with a solid fruity note lurking beneath - given how dry and roasted the original Winter Porter was, then it is clear how much fruity complexity the barrel has added. Sweet and fruity finish. Well done Mike!8-4-9-4-17=4.2

From bottle, Papsoes blindtasting #10. Pours pitch black with a light chocolate brown head. Roasted malt, chocolate and light tarish aroma - towards wooden too. Sweet, cherry citric and distinct roasted to winegrape flavoured. Citric and bitter flavoured, lasting fruity flavoured finish. Lovely.8-4-8-4-16=4.2

[Bottle] generously shared by BDR. Pours black with basically no head. Aroma is plenty of bourbon, a touch of caramel, roasted malts, oak, vanilla, and alcohol. Very rich flavor, alcohol, roasty, somewhat chocolatey, a touch of tartness, and somewhat sweet.

Tastingsession LCRBM08.
Black colored brew. Bourbon, vinous aroma. Sweet, port-like, vinous flavor. Dark fruits, some dark chocolate bitterness. Very nice.

From 750 ml bottle and shared by BDR, pours an opaque dark brown brew with a fast dissolving tan head that dissipates clean with maybe a film top. Aroma of bourbon and vanilla with some dark chocolate, dark pitted fruits and some roasted nuts. Taste is strong bourbon, full bodied, with flavors of molasses, vanilla, dark chocolate and a touch of toffee. Finish has a mild apple and vanilla aftertaste that slowly disappears with the bourbon character. Honored to have tried this rare porter.

Brewed August, 2007; Samples October 22, 2008. Big thanks to BDR. Black color with no head. Bourbon and vanilla aroma, though not an overwhelming bourbon. A little sea salt. Woody, oaky taste. The bourbon, vanilla and sweet malt blend very well together. A bit of a grape or wine vinous quality appears. Slightly salty. Walnuts and molasses. Wicked good.

Shared with toncatcher. Darkest black pour with just a smallish head. Flavors were burnt malts and coffee and chocolate. More burnt malts from the aromas as well. Very roasty and porterish. Good Porter
