Skinnyviking (2590), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 15, 2008 Bottle. High creamy and lasting off-white head. Hazy dark red brown body. Good malty, caramel nut aroma. Relatively sweet flavor of caramel and nuts with just a bit of bitterness which is not staying for long though. Alcohol well hidden. Low carbonation. oh6gdx (5739), Vaasa, Finland Aug 8, 2008 Bottled. Amber murky colour with mediumsized beige head. Aroma is caramel, sweet wood and some mild herbal notesas well as alcohol. PilsnerPeter (1376), Flushing, New York, USA Aug 1, 2008 Bottle generously shared at Ginger Man: Amber pour with a creamy off white dense head. Elegant aroma. Tart notes, mildly vinous with oak, mild leather and sweet fruit notes. Creamy body. The flavor has a great blend of sweet and tart. Smooth mild oak presence with some honey and plum notes. Seems to have a brett character, but I think it’s just the oak presence. Balanced and damn tasty. JoeMcPhee (3671), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 25, 2008 Generously shared at Ginger Man. Pale amber beer with no head. A lightly tart aroma over some soft light caramel. There is a prominent fruitiness as well. A bit of cherry. Flavour is lightly candyish with a lean and lightly estery note at the same time. A kiss of soft peach/apricot fruitiness over a light fruitiness. Just a hint of oakiness over the soft sweetness. It don’t taste like chestnuts, but it does taste good.
