hughie (2284), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Oct 7, 2008 Cask at Secklow Hundred (JDW), Milton Keynes. Gold with a white head. Sweet hair oil hop aroma. Flavour is flat, dull and not altogether fresh. Too warm. Some bitterness. This JDW is not so good as the other in MK. Suspect this one had been sitting around a bit. Mes_and_Sim (4477), Highgate, Greater London, England Sep 30, 2008 A Mes rate: cask at Baker Street ’Sporks. Pale golden blonde with a slight white film. Strong wheat and straw in the aroma with some faint hops in the background. The flavour is well balanced malt and hops but the straw notes do not do it any favours. Faint notes of alcohol and honey in the finish. I’m sure this would be pretty decent if served well but sadly most JDW’s are not capable of doing it justice. So so at best. Magic_dave6 (4012), London, Greater London, England Sep 17, 2008 Cask at the wetherspoon in wood green. Alround rating?: pale sweet malt, grassy citrusxs peppery hop, minimal, a;right bitteer. downender (1616), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Dec 6, 2007 Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 6/12/07. Deep gold colour with a decent white head. Aroma of sour apples with some citrus hops. Flavour was slightly spicy with a dry finish. Strange. harrisoni (5359), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 21, 2007 Cask gravity at Nottingham BF 2007. Gold, bleachy apricot aroma. OK in mouth, but more bleach on end. Not very pleasant. Not sure what it is trying to taste of. Bleachy apricot.
