When schell took over I thought they improved it some and it had a nice nutty flavor, rare for any american mass produced lager. Lately it tastes more like a lite beer with no hint of the nuttiness I once enjoyed. Perhaps the brewer in a effort to increase margins has reverted to cheaper ingredients. Pours a very lite transparent yellowish with a medium white frothy head. Taste is non descript, not bitter and not to sweet. Probably a good beer to drink on a hot day after physical exertion, finishes clean. Certainly better than the offerings from the big boys. badandyruh (3), USA does not count | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Sep 29, 2005 Whats better the Grain Belt and Hockey here in Minny. Not much. Cold weather and Premo go hand in hand. Quite a Unique flavor for a Lager. All I can say is you gotta try it. Those of you who know of Matt’s Bar and the "Juicy Lucy" know its gotta be consumed with some Grain Belt. Cheers
