This guy is supprisingly good, I was expecting another typical minnesota beer, however this tasted much more like a real beer.

A Classic Minnesota beer. This has a distinctive grainy smell and taste to it. Good value for what you pay for it.

while sitting in a Minnesota bar last Friday, I asked for something local and this is what I got. for what it is, it wasn’t all that bad. not something I’ll seek out again, but was worth the try.

Strong corn adjunct aroma does not promise much. Thin bodied, weak and watery flavors, again with pronounced corn sweetness. Not the worst I’ve had, but nothing I’ll ever repeat.

Believe it or not this used to be my "everyday" beer. When schell took over I thought they improved it some and it had a nice nutty flavor, rare for any american mass produced lager. Lately it tastes more like a lite beer with no hint of the nuttiness I once enjoyed. Perhaps the brewer in a effort to increase margins has reverted to cheaper ingredients. Pours a very lite transparent yellowish with a medium white frothy head. Taste is non descript, not bitter and not to sweet. Probably a good beer to drink on a hot day after physical exertion, finishes clean. Certainly better than the offerings from the big boys.

Whats better the Grain Belt and Hockey here in Minny. Not much. Cold weather and Premo go hand in hand. Quite a Unique flavor for a Lager. All I can say is you gotta try it. Those of you who know of Matt’s Bar and the "Juicy Lucy" know its gotta be consumed with some Grain Belt. Cheers
