Some sweet caramel and chocolate at the start, finishing with some nicely roasty malt notes. Very drinkable stout. Mes_and_Sim (4495), Highgate, Greater London, England Mar 6, 2007 A Mes rate:
Cask at the Wenlock. Clearly enjoyed this more than Ian. A little too sweet over all but most of the stuff you would want is in there. Chocolate maltyness, slight roated character and some caramel. Palate was a tad thin for what it is. Hmm not bad. harrisoni (5382), Ashford, Kent, England Feb 23, 2007 Cask condition, handpull at Wenlock Arms. Black colour with thin tan head. Not much of a stout really, some toffee, some ashtray, some dark choc, some smoke. It’s ok, but very much needs to be better.
