Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
A refreshing well balanced dark mild, whose chocolate and fruity flavours compliment its roasted long bitter finish. Primed using a combination of rich dark sugars, this beer is a taste sensation.

Dark brown body that looks almost black with short lasting head. Some coffee and some chocolate on the aroma with pretty much the same in the taste as well as some smoke. Easy drinking and tasty.

Cask at GBBF 2009. Deep ruby black colour. Good sweet malt aroma. Good rich and creamy flavour with a good sweet finish. A really good mild.

Cask - Planet Thanet Beer Festival ’09. Dark brown with reddy hues and a tan coloured head. Sweet aromas with a smokey quality and burnt roasted malts. Flavours of BBQ smokiness/spiciness and more roasted malts. Pleasing, creamy light dry bitterness. Smooth and filling mouthfeel; a real winner of a mild.

From bottle. Dark ale, almost black. Decent white frothy head. Sweet chocolate syrup aroma. Nice roasted malt flavour with chocolate. Balance is good with the sweet and bitter. Tasty mild.

Bottle that I picked up at the brewpub, Oakham, Cambs’ 23-01-09 and consumed 26-01-09 Pours deep mahogany colour but with glints of red shining through and topped off with a white head Some wet woodland aroms stream off of this along with some malt. The taste is very uncomplicated, malty, light chocolate, really easy drinker. This comes across as occasionally a touch thin but otherwise a very nice mild. A7 A4 F7 P4 OV14 3.6
