Deep brown hue. Texture wasn’t thick and rich but it had a bit of body along with a mild carbonation. Malts were enjoyable. Quite a bit of roast, plus coffee, dark chocolate, tar and charcoal. Some bitterness surfaced in the finish, balancing things out pretty well. Didn’t blow me away, but it was enjoyable.

May 23, 2008 Pours a light amber/black with a smallish dissipating tan head. Faint toffee, chocolate aroma. Flavor is very subdued although a nice malty backbone is apparent. Finishes short and somewhat bitter.
