bhensonb (3017), Woodland, California, USA Oct 8, 2008 Bottle from Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Pours dark brown with garnet aspects. Not much head. Rich malty aroma that seems to have chocolate accompaniment. Body is thinner than expected. Carbonation is minimal. Flavor is malty, smoky, coffee, chocolate and dark fruits. Despite expectations it is not all that sweet and the finish is neutral, perhaps toward astringent. The darker flavors tend to build interestingly.
