omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Jun 21, 2008 Bottled, thanks Crosling! Clear amber, small creamy head. Grapefruity hop aroma. Medium bodied with solid caramelly malt. Lightly citric with lots if toffee Significant bitter finish. More caramel and less hop aromas thn what is common in American IPAs. CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Sep 11, 2005 Pours a clear deep copper with a lightly-lacing bone-colored head. Rich, toasty, caramel malty aroma has some earthy English hop notes and a touch of pine. Body starts with nice, full sugary caramel maltiness and a decent, although muddled, green hoppiness. A pretty good IPA. hopdog (4654), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 29, 2005 22oz bottle acquired in trade with snowtiger (thanks!). Poured a dark and cloudy amber color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of pineapple, spices and some caramel. Tastes of caramel, apricots, oranges and citrus. Nicely balanced - not your overboard bitter finish. Nice lacing left on the glass. Enjoyable. Ernest (4254), Boulder, Colorado, USA Apr 28, 2005 Updated: Jul 5, 200822oz bottle.
Head is initially very small, frothy/fizzy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium amber.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, cookie, husks), moderately hoppy (flowers, grapefruit, resin, apricot).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, husky.
Medium body, watery texture, lively/soft carbonation.
Bit simple and grainy in this latest batch. Used to be pretty good, maybe just a temporary stumble? bu11zeye (3780), Frisco, Texas, USA May 4, 2008 (22oz bottle) Pours a clear deep amber body with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma of light citrus, toasted bread, caramel, some apricot, and herbs. Flavor of hops (light spruce, herbal), light toasted malt, and caramel with a watery, thin mouthfeel.
