Courtesy JMFG. Clear amber and some off white foam. Richly sweet caramel/toffee malt and piney, resinous hops, subtle soap, lightly astringent. Full/medium body, balanced carbonation. Decent barleywine.

Courtesy Jay "The Pippin" G. Poured a nearly crystalline reddish brown. The aroma is malty, with some dried dark fruit notes and some roasted citrus notes coming through. The flavor is a bit hoppier than the aroma indicated, but is very balanced. Good bottle.

Appearance: Pours a garnet-hued body with a bubbly, white head. Smell: Toasted, caramel malts with a faint pithy hop character and sturdy pour of booze. Taste: Sweet toasted maltiness with a minor hint of caramel. The warming alcohol hits pretty early. Not really much in the way of hop flavor, but it does deliver a bitter hop bite. Drying, throat-burning finish. Mouthfeel: Barely reaches medium-full body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: It gets the job done as a barleywine, sure, but it lacks the finesse and resounding complexities of it’s barleywine bretheren.

Pours deep reddish brown with not much carbonation. No head. Smells of very sweet malts. Light body. First taste is sweet and flat followed by a bitterness. Very light bodied . Less flavor than I expected.

Bottle from crosling. Clear dark amber with a small off-white head. The nose is sweet with toffee, dark fruits, medicine and berry. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter with toffee, astringent tea, raisins and light roast. Full body is a bit thin with moderate carbonation. Finish is hot.

22oz bottle, courtesy of ryan. Thanks! Pours a bright, viscous orange-amber color; off-white head with patchy lacing. Lots of viscous brown sugar, sweet malts, and intense dried fruits in the aroma; very chewy, basic stuff. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: tea-like malts, brown sugar, and dried red fruits; intense, chewy stuff, if a bit singular in the expression; decent, chewy stuff. Lengthy finish, showing brown sugar, dried dark fruits, and toasty malts.
