Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted/roasted grain, cookie), lightly hoppy (flowers), lightly to moderately yeasty (dough), with a light note of smoke. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Decent enough, the light smoky note helps the aroma (which suffers from a lot of raw yeastiness). Good enough balance as well. Nothing great, but ok. ratman197 (3270), Arvada, Colorado, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Feb 11, 2007 On tap @ Falling Rock poured a clear reddish brown with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, toffee and light fruitiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bread, carmel and toffee with a smooth lingering finish. Aubrey (2782), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 16, 2008 Bottle: Medium amber hue; very thin head. Mouthfeel is smooth and fairly easy to drink; light carbonation. Light sweetness (Boston baked beans, toffee, buttered toast). Healthy hoppy bitterness (grass, flowers, tree sap) with a bit of sourness (grapefruit zing, orange rind). Somewhat bold for the style, but not bad. dwyerpg (2553), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Creamy but with a good graininess. The flavor is grainy as well, but sweet and creamy as well. Really, this is quite nice. 2 for 2 with these guys. Smells like a woodsy wort. Flavor is smoky malt. Average mouthfeel. Surprised by the smoke flavor... BEAUTIFUL Rocky Mountain National Park road for a namesake. A deep amber color with a nice head. Rich in malt I really liked the awesome flavors this beer had. The hops where subtle and the flavors and spices where great. Good Beer…

Well balanced aroma and flavor, equally balancing malt and hops and providing flavors and aromas of caramel, mocha, toffee and resin. A pretty good"red" ale. Headbanger (1601), Aurora, Illinois, USA
