VitaminR (421), Colorado, USA Aug 19, 2009 Slight bread aromas with some citrus notes. Hazy gold, medium frothy head. Slight grassy scone sweetness, mild bitterness. Medium carbonation, lighter body, dirty bitter finish. Mediocre beer, not horrible, but very forgetfull. GarrettB (494), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 29, 2009 The summer months always crowd the store refrigerators with variants on the wheat beer. Each tries to look more cooling, quenching, and satisfying than the rest. “White cap wheat” makes an excellent marketing decision, combining the intensity of a boating excursion with its refreshing, even frigid dangers. And that’s what drinking a beer should be like, apparently. Despite its namesake, the White Cap doesn’t have a white cap. This allows the drinker to stare curiously down straight into the deep gold brew and take in a nutty pilsener-esque smell, noticeably absent of wheat and other grainy aromas. I catch a tiny hint of lemon, which I always in this style, but it’s faint, and does little to remedy the beer’s uncomfortably flat palate. The aftertaste has a rewarding flavor “pick me up” in the form of a pepper and beef jerky spiciness, but this too does little to fix up the generally underwhelming character of this beer. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jun 24, 2009 A little wheaty in the aroma. Looks okay. The flavor is actually pretty decent. Definitely has some light fruity characters and a nice finish. Good. thehurt01 (200), Denver, Colorado, USA Mar 15, 2009 A 12oz bottle. The beer poured a cloudy gold with no head to speak of. The smell is very faint and fruity. The taste refreshing and light wheat. Good carbonation. Hophead22 (1056), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA Jan 16, 2009 12oz bottle, from aplusbreaks, thanks Austin. Cloudy yellow pour with a white head. Nice citrusy aroma, slightly sweet. Smooth drinker, a little citrus, kind of thin. Good session beer. aplusbreaks (330), , Colorado, USA Jan 9, 2009 Draft at the brewpub in Grand Lake. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a nice frothy white head. Aromas of citrus and yeast and some pepper notes? Flavor is sweet citrus and a bit of bitterness in the finish. Palate is thin and watery. ilherps (212), Carbondale, Illinois, USA Aug 29, 2008 This beer was yellowish, clear with little head. It had a very watery mouth feel, with very little on the nose. Mild citrus flavors came through, but there wasn’t much about this beer that stood out. ratman197 (3135), Arvada, Colorado, USA Apr 26, 2008 Bottle poured a cloudy gold witrh a small lingering white head. Aromas of bread dough, yeast and a hint of citrus. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a smooth finish.
