Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA Sep 9, 2009 12oz bottle at RSRIZZO’s tasting 8/9/09-Pours a dark brown with no head. Aroma of roasted malt. Flavor was very bland with nothing really coming across. This was very light bodied for a brown ale and was not very good. VitaminR (421), Colorado, USA Aug 19, 2009 Choclate raisin nose. Blackish brown, with deep red hues. Chocolate syrup and honey sweetness, mild but appropriate bitter balance. Good carbonation, medium body, slight roasty chocolate finish. This was a bold brown with big flavors pushing the boundries of the style--which is great! dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jun 26, 2009 Pretty nutty aroma. Bown color. This is nutty, a little soapy, a little creamy. Some sweetness and a lot of nut flavor in the finish. Decent. Chef Chad (102), Grand Junction, Colorado, USA Jun 4, 2009 Smells very milk chocolaty with some roast tones.. Pours a average brown with no head. Water body but a smooth finish. Carbonation is lacking here. Flavor is very boring and not very good.. I can taste water more than toffee and carmel... this is not a good one at all thehurt01 (201), Denver, Colorado, USA Mar 15, 2009 A 12oz bottle. The beer poured a dark amber brown with a small head. Dark brown pour with a small white head, not alot of carbonation. Smells bready, some sweet, dark malts as well. Very easy to drink, more dark, sweet malts. Not bad. aplusbreaks (330), , Colorado, USA Jan 9, 2009 Draft at the brewpub in Grand Lake. Pours a dark amber light brown in color with a small white head. Aromas of nutty maltiness, honey and caramel malts. Flavors are sweet malts with no hop presence to speak of. Palate is a little thin, light carbonation. FlyingSwine (169), Littleton, Colorado, USA Aug 3, 2008 12 oz bottle in pint glass. Pours a DARK brown with a small tan head. Looks more like a Porter than your typical Brown Ale. Aroma is mainly chocolate, just like a Tootsie Roll. Flavor is really good, chocolate, mocha, and nuts. Palate is medium bodied, and fairly smooth. Finishes just a touch dry. Overall this is a very good, highly drinkable Brown Ale. I’ll certainly put some in the fridge.
