Aubrey (2614), Denver, Colorado, USA Jul 15, 2008 Bottle: Deep and dark brown with a creamy head. Full, chewy texture (sounds like it’s drastically improved from the tap version). Rather tasty malt flavors had a lot of wholesome, earthy flavors. Chocolate, nuts, caramel and milky sweetness. A mild, grassy bitterness follows through. Finish is nice, and it begs you to take another sip. Pretty good brown.
FlyingSwine (132), Littleton, Colorado, USA Aug 3, 2008 12 oz bottle in pint glass. Pours a DARK brown with a small tan head. Looks more like a Porter than your typical Brown Ale. Aroma is mainly chocolate, just like a Tootsie Roll. Flavor is really good, chocolate, mocha, and nuts. Palate is medium bodied, and fairly smooth. Finishes just a touch dry. Overall this is a very good, highly drinkable Brown Ale. I’ll certainly put some in the fridge. ratman197 (2370), Arvada, Colorado, USA Apr 5, 2008 Bottle poured a clear dark mahogany with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of chocolate, carmel, nuts and toasted malt. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cocoa, nuts, toasted malt, light carmel and a hint of vanilla with a smooth lingering bittersweet finish. n49921 (86), USA Aug 12, 2007 On tap at brewpub. Slight malty aroma, a little bit of caramel. Dark brown, medium to light body. Slight head. Light nut taste, but not much. A little bit light on the taste - could have been a bit bolder in flavor, but not bad. mreusch (461), Olathe, Kansas, USA Oct 20, 2006 Growler from brewery, pours dark brown with a thin light tan head. Smells sweet with hints of caramel. A fairly thin brown ale; nothing special, a little sweet, but overall drinkable. I am being forced to note that my wife likes it since it is mild and understated, but rating reflects my thoughts.
