[2305-20090712] Cask. Mild toasty bread yeast aroma. Clear, light orange brown body with a quick bubbly white head. Very bready yeast flavour has light fruity wheat. Smooth medium body. Not bad, drinkable.

Cask @ Victory Summer Fest. Nose is lemon with malt, hazy yellow, tiny white head. Taste is a faded lemon lifesavers, light malt also. Light bodied, dry. Uninspired. Surprising for this Brewery!

Cask at Victory Cafe
Appearance: almost clear , some haze on amber –gold. Fizzy light top.
Nose: Slightly grainy , mild with thin honey elements/ Where is the wheat ? 4+
Flavor/Palate : Mid bodied. Short slight hint of wheat on oily textured malts. Clean but also quiet plain. Finish was lightly better. Soft , clean summer brew. I am suspecting Brewmasters did wheat prank on us hence the name…

Cask. At Victory Cafe Summer Fest 2009. Let me preface by saying I have voted for Grand River two years in a row now as my favorite brewery in Ontario - but this one ... Erm, no, not so much. Clear gold pour with a small white head - it doesn’t look bad per se, but a clear wheat beer? really??? Grainy, somewhat honeyish aroma - again, not unappealing so much as "wheat?!!!" The taste seemed oily, cereal grain and a weird overripe fruit sweetness - very thick and cloying on the tongue, and it actually seemed a bit boozy - I didn’t like it, but I’ll be honest and say it loses a couple of points for being labelled "wheat."

Cask at Victory Summer Fest - poured a clear gold with a thin head. Faint aroma, a touch of yeast, some green apple, a bit of sweet malt. Flavour much the same - certainly drinkable, but fairly bland. This and the Bumbleberry Wheat are my least favourite of Grand River’s otherwise absolutely stellar lineup. Guess I just don’t dig American Wheats.

Had at Victory cask festival. No aroma, and not much in looks as medium yellow with some bubbly head. A little sourness and certainly minimum wheat. Average mouthfeel. Sourness comes mostly from their water.
