MartinT (4345), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 24, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Grassy, herbal hop spires pierce the cloudy, softspoken cereals in this balanced and highly drinkable Pils.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the hazy pale yellow.
-Citrusy notes are also present throughout.
-The nose was more complex than the flavor profile.
-The body was lean and the maltiness not entirely crisp.
-The finish was a tad dull, mostly offering cereal sweetness and thus without much hop presence.
-We also got a bottle that was labelled Pils, but which was obviously not the same beer as this one. What’s up with that?
-Although this was quite enjoyable, it could not hold up to the Tipopils which followed, imho.

Appearance: Mild golden appearance with fine medium, fairly creamy top , some lace noted. 3+ Nose : Sweet , grainy front with fruity hop backing.. Flavor/Palate : medium bodied with lighter palate. Slightly sour , grainy hints up front followed by dry hay. To much of fruity bitterness on palate to be true helles yet not nearly enough of hop profile for pils. Malty softness was proper to intended style. Brew that grows on you the more you drink, that’s good. Currently with this batch I would classify under premium lager category.12+/20
CapFlu (3292), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Aug 31, 2008 (Growler) Thanks to Steve for sharing at the Brasseur du Temps pre-party. Pours a thin, lasting white head with a clear, non-carbonated golden body. Nose of biscuit and graham crackers. Mildly buttery, thin but fairly clean. 6/3/7/3/13 HogTownHarry (3200), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada May 10, 2008 Updated: May 14, 2008Draught. At Volo. Mostly clear gold pour with a small white head. Clean, refeshing, appealing aroma, sweet and light; floral hops, light fruity banana/apple malt, with dashes of yeast and spice - reminded me of a hefe-pils cross. The taste was also quite light, a perfect patio beer, crisp, floral and just the right amount of bitterness to balance out the sweetness. The mouthfeel seemed a bit slick - this really is light-bodied - with a whisper of astringency. This would be terrific on cask, it reminded me on the palate of the better cask English golden ales - lightly malty, with just the right amount of hop bitterness in the finish. Very refreshing, and another solid offering from Grand River. jerc (3114), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 19, 2008 2008-05-10. Crisp golden yellow body with a small white head and light lacing. (3+) Interesting aroma, light grassy floral hops with allusions to fruit. (6+) Flavour has a similar hop spectrum, light grass, straw and floral with modest not quite fruit aromas - perhaps citric hops? (6+) Palate is slightly fuller bodied than average. (3+) Well made, pleasant, but I would personally reach for one of the breweries other offerings first. On tap at Volo
