Appearance: Pours as deep murky copper-ruby-brown, smallish rocky top. Nice colour.3+. Nose :Plenty of sweet berry with some zest , strawberry like (ripe), leafy hop side. Solid composition. 8- Flavor/Palate : Firs sip gives you feel of mellow slow impressions. Strong hop underlying with sweeter berry top. Vintage hints , this heavy-light fruity-hop palate works surprisingly very well. Sour front is well covered in blanket made of hops. Here and there short fruity burst appear. With time as it warms up this ale becomes weighty with its flavour richness. Fruitiness is being replaced by mixture of Gouda and blue cheese, Smooth alcohol adds warmth. Complex, polarizing style.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 24, 2008 Orange-copper in colour with a white coloured head and excellent lacing. The aroma is lightly sour, some acidity, yeast and light cherries. The flavour has a mild sweetness from the cherries, must, yeasty with an acidic tartness coming up the back. Lightly sour mouthfeel, medium/light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes lingering with some cherries and peaches.
This is pretty good stuff. Its a bit rough still but a new chapter in Ontario brewing for sure.

Murky brown body with a small creamy beige head and similar foamy beige lacing clings to the glass. Red hints when it nears the candle on the table. (3+) Aroma is lightly musty with a mildly fruity light sourness. I have trouble teasing out the finer points, brief notes of sour grapes. When I came back to it the warmer glass had become a lot fruitier. Tropical fruit? Mango or maybe lychee? (7+) Flavour is not what I expected. First impression is hoppy bitterness, then lightly sour malt, finishes with hoppy malt and varying degrees of sourness. The sourness has fruit undertones, hints at cherries but I suspect that those are in my head and not the glass. Average palate is lightly carbonated, pleasantly smooth. Decent, quite interesting. Not sure that it is one I would come back to though. Seems to be a touch variable based on other ratings so who knows, I might give it another shot. Taste is creamy, above average, with candied sourness behind it. A very good creation, trying to be more acceptable though not the ususal example of the style. Worth a half pint. mabel (2626), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Murky, red brown body with a medium-lasting foamy light tan-green head. Tropical apricot mango continues in flavour with sour malty earth. Medium body is fairly sour. Interesting to try, very fruity.

Pours a murky orange-brown with a small off-white head. Tart aroma, lots of yeast and citrus, with malt and sugar. Taste is very sour, with a lot of malt and yeasty funk, with a hint of fruit. Lingering sour funk. Weird but decent.
