IrishBoy (2686), Bakersfield, California, USA May 18, 2009 500ml bottle BO 2/06/09 from Harry!!! Nose of grassy hay with a faint spearmint note. Hazy light copper with a medium off white head. Flavor is lightly bitter with some light caramel and white pepperiness. Not pale enough to compete with Bud, Miller, or Coors. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Jan 9, 2009 Updated: Jan 18, 2009Bottle (500ml). Courtesy of tupalev. Bottled Nov 18 2008. Slight slow gush, pours clear amber-gold, smallish frothy-fizzy white head. Floral aroma, light sweet timothy, very fresh. The taste is wildflowers and marigolds, a wonderful light toasted malt / floral bitterness balance - soft, chewy mouthfeel, decent carbonation, a light oily coating in the finish. Damn hell these guys make good beer! Thanks again, Jeff (growlers of this, you say? Hells YES!) Boutip (2334), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Oct 24, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Derek: Poured a clear dirty golden color lager with a good size foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of medium sweet malt with some light floral notes. Taste is also a mix between some medium sweet and lightly floral malt with some light dry crisp hops. Body is quite full for the style with some great carbonation. Well done for the style but a little more crisp hops would have elevated this to a great status. Glouglouburp (2778), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 24, 2008 In short: A tasty session lager. Well malted, well hopped but with a weird light acidic and comeback flavour. Good.
How: Bottle 500ml from matt7215, thanks a lot Matt. Consumed very fresh, bottling date October 01 2008, drank 13 days later (October 14 2008).
The look: Partly cloudy golden body topped by a medium off-white head
In long: Nose of a big rich citrusy hoppy lager. Ultra satisfying body, lots of crisp cereals and quite a bit of caramel for the style. Rich lager character. Hopping is citrusy with a hint of grapefruit and a light acidic touch (Syrian Golding?) and dry grass. Very mild bitterness head to head with the light acidity. Fruity caramel and earthy grass on the comeback. Something about the light acidity and the comeback didn’t sit well with me but overall this is a superior session lager. Finally a Town Hall I will gladly re-visit and not because of court citations. kmweaver (2396), Sebastopol, California, USA Sep 18, 2008 500mL bottle, bottled Sept. 10, 2008. Pours a slightly hazy golden color; solidly formed white head with good retention and fine-bubbled lacing. Solid mineral bitterness and light malts in the aroma; dry, crisp. Medium mouthfeel: lots of mineral bitterness, light citrus, some solid, mouthwatering acidity; touches of a mild metallic note that melds closely with the minerals; highly drinkable, lively carbonated, pretty tasty lager. Medium finish: lasting mineral bitterness, with a note of dry, toasty maltiness coming through at the far end. micker (31), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 26, 2008 This is good and has an great smooth flavour. I do however find this beer to be a bit too sweet for my liking. I believe that increasing the alcohol content may conteract the sweetness. Almost a great beer, just a tad too sweet for my tastes Spab (236), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 19, 2008 Growler from brewery. Pours a slighly hazy yellow gold with small white head. Sweet malt aroma. Sweet malt flavour with a nice hoppy but smooth finish. Another really impressive offering from Grand River. Cartoonkhaki (1149), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Aug 5, 2008 Light golden colour with white head. Malty aroma with slight hints of grass. Lightly sweet and grassy flavour there is a little bready flavour going on. Good medium body.
