(3+) Pleasant aroma with pleasant moderate hops and mild fruity notes. Hops are a type taht I can not quite place. Flavour is surprisingly fruity in alternating sips. Very nicely hopped, the hops are touch sharp at first sip but dissipates across the tongue leaving only about half that intensity in the finish and aftertaste. Pleasant, moderate bitterness throughout. (7+) Smooth average to medium palate (3+). Very drinkable, and repeatable. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 10, 2007 On tap at Victory Cafe. Nice golden amber pour, good sized white head. Very fruity aroma, slightly sweet. Taste is good - crisp, yet medium bodies, lots of sweetness and a good hop bite - mix in some fruit (apple mostly) and this is one satisfying full flavoured session lager! Man these guys are knocking lower alcohol style beer sout of the park, aren’t they? Great job Grand River, nice and fresh and in great shape at the Victory as well. pootzboy (1048), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 11, 2007 Updated: Sep 14, 2007Growler fresh from the brewery. The pour produces a deep gold-amber, clear lager with a massive tight-pored frothy cap which lasts and laces the glass.
Sturdy aromas of pale and toasted malt...some .light whisps of hay.
Medium body, hard mineral mouth feel, malty-hop forward character.
Rich malt mixture in the front gets balanced and lightly over taken by more aggressive bittering hops. Lightly dry finish...bready after taste.
A lighter ABV session lager from this brewer that has substantially more flavor than most light lagers.... it is somewhat better balanced than the Galt Knife lager and the hop astringency in the finish does not wipe out the malty after taste expected in a fresh lager. A well made malty summer lager and I like it better than the other GRB lager. It also has that signature sharp bite to it as other GRB brews but not as intense. Perhaps the local water is just too hard for a smooth soft lager....then again a lager with sharp "bite" to it is a pleasant change.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 11, 2007 Draught at the Victory Café. Pours a clear golden-orange with an average size diminishing white head. Aroma’s quite fruity with a nice amount of hops and caramel malt. Fruity, caramelly flavour along with hops (and again I’m pleasantly surprised by the amount of hops in this Lager) and a light bitter finish. Medium bodied. I was not expecting to like this as much as I did, another nice surprise from this brewery. Keep up the great work Grand River! robinvboyer (1444), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada

This is a transparent golden orange colour with a thin, permanent, off white head. The aroma is very nice: plenty of malt, honey, fresh bread, orange peel, clove, flowers, lemon, spices. Mouthfeel is medium, smooth. The flavour has loads of lemon zest; it’s very floral too, with dandelion, grass, oats, cereal, apple, some peppermint. Finish is medium to short with grassy hops. kmweaver (2489), Sebastopol, California, USA

Pours a slightly hazy golden color; solidly formed white head with good retention and fine-bubbled lacing. Solid mineral bitterness and light malts in the aroma; dry, crisp. Medium mouthfeel: lots of mineral bitterness, light citrus, some solid, mouthwatering acidity; touches of a mild metallic note that melds closely with the minerals; highly drinkable, lively carbonated, pretty tasty lager. Medium finish: lasting mineral bitterness, with a note of dry, toasty maltiness coming through at the far end. garthicus (1311), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
